Database Engineer M/F - Hong Kong

Quanteam is seeking a Database Engineer for its development in Hong Kong, on behalf of a prestigious global quantitative investment firm. This role involves being a key member of the global database team, responsible for supporting, administering, and securing the organization's databases. The position offers exposure to various database projects, including administration, high availability (Always-On/High Availability), capacity planning, data warehouses, and database design.

Must Have

• Work closely with users across all business functions to identify and resolve information flow and content issues
• Enable and support the transformation of business needs into database solutions
• Design and develop robust and innovative systems to keep the company at the forefront of its industry
• Over 5 years of experience in production database administration
• Mastery of at least two of SQL-Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
• Experience in production database administration with at least two of PostgreSQL, SQL-Server, NoSQL
• Good understanding of monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and database performance optimization
• Experience in one or more database programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PSQL, etc.) and BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• Experience in security and permissions management
• Experience in scripting via PowerShell / Shell script
• Organized, proactive, team-oriented; ability to work under pressure with excellent time management

Good to Have

• Python scripting experience
• Cloud database administration experience

Your SKILLS

• More than 5 years of experience in production database administration. Mastery of at least two of the following technologies is essential: SQL-Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
• Experience in production database administration, with at least two of the following technologies: PostgreSQL, SQL-Server, NoSQL
• Good understanding of database monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance optimization
• Experience in one or more database programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PSQL, etc.) and BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• Experience in security and permissions management
• Experience in scripting via PowerShell / Shell script; Python would be an asset
• Cloud database administration experience would be a plus
• Knowledge of industry best practices
