The Director of Food & Beverage and Lodging at Tokyo Disney Resort is a senior executive role, integral to the WDAJ Executive Committee. This position oversees all F&B and lodging strategies, partnering closely with Oriental Land Company (OLC). Responsibilities include building strong alliances with OLC, ensuring adherence to Disney-OLC agreements, providing strategic and operational leadership, and achieving guest, cast, and financial objectives. The role requires influencing OLC partners, developing successful strategies, supporting global initiatives, mentoring WDAJ team members, and championing high-quality food and service. This leadership position demands strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, combined with a deep understanding of the F&B industry and a passion for Disney's brand.

Job Summary:

The director of Food & Beverage and Lodging is an executive role and an integral member of the Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) Executive Committee.  The candidate in this role will oversee Food & Beverage and Lodging strategies at Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR), one of the most popular theme park destinations in the world, operating under the largest Disney license agreement worldwide.  The candidate will develop such strategies using sound judgment and analysis and will influence, advise, guide, support and present to the Oriental Land Company (OLC,) Disney’s licensee for TDR, to adopt and implement effective Food & Beverage and Lodging initiatives for TDR.  The role will focus on supporting OLC in the development of Food & Beverage and Lodging programs that deliver value for guests, drive intent for Guests to visit Tokyo Disney Resort, and reinforce Disney’s premium brand.

The director of Food & Beverage and Lodging will frequently interact and partner with all divisions within Walt Disney Attractions Japan, Walt Disney Imagineering Japan to support the priorities of both Disney and OLC while maximizing long-term value for Disney.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build strong strategic alliances and relationships with OLC
  • Have a comprehensive and historical understanding of all agreements between Disney and OLC and ensure that new initiatives adhere to such agreements
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for OLC partners, as well as be a participating member of the Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ)/Walt Disney Imagineering Japan (WDIJ) Executive Committee.
  • Provide vision, leadership and direction for achieving Guest, Cast and financial objectives for Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR), through influencing OLC partners as well as developing strategies that will ensure success in these areas and supporting global initiatives and product development efforts.
  • Act as a leader, mentor and coach for the overall development of WDAJ Food & Beverage and Lodging Cast Members on team.
  • Be a passionate, committed champion of high-quality and innovative food and service experiences.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Current status role at Executive or Operations Manager level
  • Minimum 10 years Food & Beverage industry experience in progressive leadership roles, including the areas of quick service, table service and catering/ conventions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion in providing excellence for guiding OLC’s Food & Beverage and Lodging Guest experiences
  • Demonstrated strong negotiating, mentoring, influencing, organizational, planning and partnership skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving a diverse work force
  • Demonstrated strong presentation, facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and drive enthusiasm and teamwork with a commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and integrate Guest, Cast and business goals to produce great results in support of Tokyo Disney Resort through guiding OLC
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate global initiatives and line-of-business thinking into the daily operation at Tokyo Disney Resort by influencing OLC partners
  • Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and creatively

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in a Culinary, Hospitality Program, or equivalent
  • Proven varied Food & Beverage industry experience
  • Bilingual skills (English Japanese)
