Position Summary:
The Director of Quality is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the company’s quality assurance and quality control systems. This role ensures that products, services, and processes meet established standards and customer expectations, while driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Quality Leadership:
- Develop and execute the company’s quality strategy aligned with business goals.
- Drive quality initiatives and improvements.
- Serve as the primary liaison for quality-related matters with executive leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS):
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of TL 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or other relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Participate in internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and quality enhancement.
- Utilize Six Sigma, Lean, or other methodologies to reduce waste and improve performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on quality metrics.
- Team Leadership:
- Partner with quality assurance and control teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Develop training programs to enhance quality awareness across departments.
- Customer & Supplier Engagement:
- Work with a customer-focused mindset.
- Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.
- AI-Driven Quality Analytics:
- Promote and lead the integration of AI and machine learning to enhance analytical models for quality assurance and control.
- Utilize AI-powered predictive analytics to identify emerging quality trends, automate data aggregation, and trigger alerts for deviations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy AI solutions for actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in quality management.
- Strong knowledge of QMS standards (e.g., ISO, TL 9000).
- Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE, or CQM/OE are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., telecommunications, aerospace, automotive, medical devices).
- Proficiency in quality Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
- Experience in problem solving tools/methods, root cause analysis, and formulating/recommending corrective actions required.
- Ability to influence and lead change across diverse teams.
