Job Summary

Join Fairmont Banff Springs as a Dishwasher/Steward for a minimum six-month full-time contract starting April 2026. This role is crucial for maintaining kitchen operations in a fast-paced, Michelin Key hotel environment. Responsibilities include operating industrial dishwashers, hand washing, cleaning cookware, sanitizing surfaces, managing waste, and adhering to safety standards. Must Have

  • Operate industrial dishwashers safely and wash items by hand when needed
  • Clean all cookware to a high standard
  • Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing surfaces and keeping floors dry and hazard-free
  • Store all cleaned items properly
  • Manage recycling and trash removal from designated areas
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and Fairmont standards
  • Report any safety concerns or equipment issues
  • Demonstrate flexibility by training and working in any required area
  • Perform other assigned duties
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery
  • Physically fit and able to work well under pressure
  • Able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50+ lbs
  • Able to bend, twist, climb, and kneel comfortably
  • Reaching above and below shoulder level

As a Dishwasher at our “1” Michelin Key hotel, awarded two years in a row, you’ll keep the kitchen running smoothly in a hot, busy setting. This role is a great stepping stone into hospitality, offering growth opportunities in a supportive team where we Make It Count.

Starting Rate: $19.40 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $23.82.

Please note: This position begins in April and is offered as a minimum six-month contract.

Job Duties Include:

  • Operate industrial dishwashers safely, wash items by hand when needed, and clean all cookware to a high standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing surfaces, keeping floors dry and hazard-free, and storing all cleaned items properly.
  • Manage recycling and trash removal from all designated areas.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and Fairmont standards, reporting any safety concerns or equipment issues.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by training and working in any required area and performing other assigned duties.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Physically fit and able to work well under pressure
  • Able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50+ lbs
  • Able to bend, twist, climb, and kneel comfortably
  • Reaching above and below shoulder level
  • Working in loud environments, with exposure to hot, humid, and cold conditions, as well as dust, chemicals, fumes, and constant contact of water.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience an asset
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery
  • Passionate and organized about maintaining a clean safe working environment
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
