WSYM is seeking an energetic MMJ Intern for Fall 2025 to join their team of Neighborhood Reporters. Interns will be immersed in the local news environment, gaining experience as a working MMJ. Responsibilities include pitching stories, conducting interviews, gathering footage, and bringing stories to life across various platforms. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with creative problem-solving skills, a passion for compelling journalism, and the necessary skills. This internship offers an opportunity to learn about the industry and perform assigned duties. Interns will also develop skills related to their area of support. Scripps is committed to fostering a culture of connection and values diversity and inclusion.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with a team.

Calling all aspiring storytellers! WSYM is searching for an energetic MMJ Intern to join our team of Neighborhood Reporters for Fall 2025. At FOX 47, Interns are the real deal! You'll dive headfirst into the evolving world of local news and get a chance to make a real impact as a working MMJ. You'll be expected to pitch stories, gather interviews and footage, and bring that story to life across all our platforms. We're looking for self-starters with a knack for creative problem-solving, a passion for compelling journalism, and the skills to back it up.

Primary Purpose

Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily job assignments

Key Activities

  • Gain exposure to the industry
  • Perform assigned duties as relating to the internship
  • Develop skills based on the area supporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Internships are intended to be positions that are for a limited duration  

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong desire to learn more about the industry
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Ability to follow directions
