This internship at Thales' Elancourt site, a major technological excellence center in Saint Quentin en Yvelines, involves joining the "Antennas, AESA and Radiated IVV" team within the Defense Mission Systems entity. Must Have

  • Simulate a multi-port antenna (based on an existing design) to understand its challenges

Your daily life

At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the site is one of Thales' most important technological excellence centers. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize know-how in more than 80 professions in defense solutions, high-tech security, and digital services.

You will join the "Antennas, AESA and Radiated IVV" team of the Defense Mission Systems entity, which has a material characterization bench.

You will work within the "Antennas, AESA, and Radiated IVV" team whose main activities concern:

  • antenna and stealth studies (upstream and projects)
  • design of antennas, AESA, and radomes
  • measurement of antennas and AESA
  • RCS characterization
  • material and radome characterization

The internship is part of the continuation of a 2025 internship, during which an OTA (Over-The-Air) load-pull effect measurement bench was designed and implemented.

The objective of this 2026 internship is to use this bench to characterize the load-pull effects of a multi-port antenna.

Your profile

Are you pursuing a BAC+5 level course in electronics and telecommunications and looking for an internship for a duration of 6 months?

Do you have fundamental knowledge of microwaves and antennas, an aptitude for experimental manipulations, and scientific curiosity?

Do you also have knowledge of Matlab or Python programming?

Do you ideally have knowledge of antenna simulation software (HFSS or CST)?

Are you curious and rigorous, proactive, and enjoy teamwork?
