Job Summary
Valeo is seeking an Electronics Engineer Intern for its Circular Economy Laboratory in Nevers. The intern will conduct a comprehensive benchmark of thermal protection solutions for electronic repair operations. This involves analyzing existing standards, defining success criteria, performing comparative tests using advanced instrumentation like IR cameras and X-ray inspection, and compiling results to recommend the most effective solutions. The role also includes contributing to the standardization of Valeo's repair guides across Europe.
Must Have
- Analyze existing standards (IPC, ISO) and current practices at Valeo production sites.
- Define success and failure criteria (technical performance, ergonomics, cost) in collaboration with PROLONG experts.
- Set up and lead a campaign of instrumented comparative tests (IR cameras, thermocouples, X-ray inspection) for thermal protection solutions.
- Compile results in a multi-criteria matrix to identify and propose the most effective solutions.
- Contribute to updating Valeo's repair standards and guides for deployment in Europe.
- Student in final year of engineering school or Master's (Bac+5) specializing in electronics, embedded systems, or reliability.
- Knowledge of electronic processes (welding, rework, IPC standards).
- Good analytical mind, with a strong interest in technical problem-solving, experimentation, and instrumentation.
- Autonomous, creative, and skilled in project management (planning, reporting).
- Fluent English level is required for documentation and exchanges.

As part of the strategic European project PROLONG, Valeo is developing innovative industrial practices around the circular economy (Rework and Repair) applied to automotive electronic boards.
We are recruiting an Electronics Engineer Intern for our Nevers (58) site, within the Circular Economy Laboratory.
Your missions:
Reporting to the project experts, your mission will consist of carrying out a complete benchmark of thermal protection solutions for electronic repair operations:
- Analyze existing solutions: Study standards (IPC, ISO) and gather current practices on Valeo production sites.
- Define the method: Establish success and failure criteria (technical performance, ergonomics, cost) in collaboration with the PROLONG expert team.
- Experiment: Set up and lead a campaign of instrumented comparative tests (IR cameras, thermocouples, X-ray inspection) to measure the effectiveness of different solutions (gels, tapes, ceramics, etc.).
- Analyze and recommend: Compile the results in a multi-criteria matrix to identify and propose the most effective solutions.
- Standardize: Contribute to updating Valeo's repair standards and guides that will be deployed in Europe.
About you:
- You are a final year engineering school student or Master's student (Bac+5) specializing in electronics, embedded systems, or reliability.
- You have knowledge of electronic processes (welding, rework, IPC standards).
- Endowed with a good analytical mind, you have a strong taste for technical problem-solving, experimentation, and instrumentation.
- You are recognized for your autonomy, creativity, and project management skills (planning, reporting).
- A fluent level of English is required for documentation and exchanges.
