Job Description

This internship focuses on analyzing experimental data and studying the effect of doping on parametric instabilities and laser-plasma energy coupling in regimes relevant for inertial confinement fusion. Key missions include processing and interpreting experimental diagnostic data, comparing results with existing analytical models and/or simulations, and proposing new experimental mitigation strategies based on the analysis.

Your daily life

Our Barp site, located between Bordeaux and Arcachon, specializes in the development, integration, and Operational Maintenance of systems and equipment generating or amplifying very high-power signals.

The internship's main objective will be the analysis of experimental data and the study of the effect of doping on the development of parametric instabilities and on the coupling of laser energy to plasma.

By joining us, your main missions will be:

  • Process and interpret data from various experimental diagnostics.
  • Compare results with existing analytical models and/or simulations.
  • Propose new experimental mitigation strategies based on the analysis.

Your profile:

  • You are preparing a BAC+5 in master or equivalent engineer, for an end-of-study internship.
  • You have knowledge in plasma physics.
  • A curriculum focused on hot plasma physics and/or nuclear fusion would be a plus.
  • You have an aptitude for numerical physics and data analysis to draw experimental conclusions.
  • You speak English fluently.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
