As a Lead Level Designer, you will join the level design leadership team, driving the vision and shaping world spaces from early prototyping to final polish. This role involves collaborating with directors to create engaging gameplay and narrative opportunities, outlining comprehensive gameplay experiences, and developing gold standard missions. You will mentor and inspire the team, ensuring unique spaces that blend gameplay, visuals, and narrative. Additionally, you will manage production dependencies, review content, and balance various constraints with art and technical leads, iterating based on player feedback.
Must Have:- Collaborate with leads to create spaces for gameplay and narrative opportunities.
- Brainstorm ideas, set quality benchmarks, and identify technology gaps.
- Outline gameplay experience including landmarks, encounters, flow, pacing, and exploration.
- Participate in prototyping and experimentation to establish best practices.
- Develop gold standard missions and levels exemplifying creative vision and core pillars.
- Guide and inspire the team to create unique, memorable spaces.
- Mentor, motivate, and strengthen the design vision within the team.
- Work with production to identify asset dependencies, scope, and delivery schedules.
- Review content and provide constructive feedback.
- Balance technical, aesthetic, gameplay, and narrative constraints with artists and Art Director.
- Iterate and find solutions to friction points using external player feedback.
