Join us on our journey and help us collaborate towards our newly announced game: Blood Message. It is set in historical China and features a realistic visual style and authentic traditional combat gameplay. The project is making use of Unreal Engine 5 and is co-developed in collaboration between Montreal and our main studio in China.

We are a co-development video game studio based in Montreal, Canada, committed to delivering exceptional gaming experiences. Our team collaborates closely with our headquarters in China. The position is currently open to candidates in Montreal or Toronto.

We are seeking a Level Designer who is passionate about creating immersive & captivating game worlds players will love to explore. The ideal candidate should be curious, invested, and excited about experimenting with innovative ideas to create both the big and little moments in the game world that enhance the narrative and make it come to life!

What your daily life will look like:

• Collaborate with all development disciplines to create memorable player experiences, throughout the iterative process, from creation to finalization.
• Design and build maps and work closely with writers and level artists to place, balance, and link missions, stories, and game concepts to ensure a consistent experience.
• Frequently organize map reviews to promote teamwork and level improvement.
• Create and maintain presentations and documentation for all level design related content.
• Design and create systemic moments in the world, handcrafted set pieces with emergent AI behaviors to create a living world that offers players variety at every turn.
• Coordinate and co-develop with our main studio team in China.

The skills we’re looking for:

• Professional experience in game development, with a design-focused portfolio and previously shipped game titles.
• Skilled in 3D world editing and visual scripting tools, with experience using Unreal Engine 5.
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
• Experience developing content focused scripted, systemic, and emerging moments.
• Self-motivated and curious attitude, flexible and collaborative with all development disciplines.
• Knowledge and passion for games, with a desire to push and deliver unique and fun experiences.
