Lanterns is an independent video game studio based in Tunis, Tunisia. Focusing mainly on narrative video games. At Lanterns, we exist to deliver compelling and responsible gameplay experience and stories to the world.
A Level/Environment artist works under the supervision of the lead level designer/artist and is responsible for the total environment of a game level, as well as all of the assets and characters that inhabit it. In the conceptual stage, the level artist imagines a chapter in the overarching storyline of the game.
The daily life of a Level/Environment artist at Lanterns:
- Place world assets to dress a scene, giving context to the story while providing gameplay opportunities.
- Create models and assemble scenes for both architectural and organic environments.
- Work with the Level designer to bring aesthetic composition to scenes with strict technical and gameplay constraints.
- Collaborate with the Design, Art, and Engineering teams to create and refine gameplay.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Job skills
What it takes to make it:
- An excellent sense of composition and observation
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 & 5
- Good working knowledge of Maya, 3DS Max, or similar 3D package
- Ability to quickly learn content pipeline and toolset and become a subject matter expert.
- Welcomes criticism and collaborates well as part of a diverse team, innovating without losing sight of the gameplay vision.
- Independent, organized and proactive, you have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team.
- Extremely adaptable, especially in terms of quality and time constraints, with a precise attention to detail.
- Good understanding of architecture.
