Job Summary
The NOC Back Office Engineer will monitor networks using various EMS/NMS tools and respond according to processes. This role involves applying analytical skills and technical knowledge to resolve product and network issues of moderate complexity. The engineer will ensure smooth and reliable network operation by collaborating with internal teams, field operations, and customer contacts. Responsibilities also include technical activities related to problem management, performance degradation, network optimization, and recommending new features and process improvements.
Must Have
- Monitor networks with different EMS / NMS tools and act according to the relevant processes.
- Apply analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve product and network issues of moderate complexity.
- Perform NoC Back Office activities.
- Utilize outstanding technical and communication skills to ensure smooth and reliable network operation.
- Perform technical activities related to Problem Management, Performance Degradation and Network Optimization.
- Provide recommendations for new features and processes improvement in the NoC.
- Show “Out of the Box” way of thinking to meet customer requirement and business objectives.
- B.Sc. in Telecommunications/Computer Science or equivalent.
- NoC experience of 3+ years.
- Experience in at least one of the following technologies: TCP/IP Protocols, Network Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP/ RIP), Ethernet Switches (VLAN/STP).
- Thorough understanding, critical features and common application of ISO Layers 2 through 7.
- Proven experience with advanced troubleshooting of transport/transmission networks (NOC/Operations experience).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical presentation skills.
- Team player with experience training and/or mentoring.
- Availability for on call duty outside business hours.
Good to Have
- Cisco/Juniper certifications (CCNP or equivalent)
- Radio Transport and / or Access Network knowledge
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance to others on the team
- Automation skills (to be able to create small scripts)
- Experience in working with global teams
