Job Description

Axel Springer is seeking an Online Marketing Manager for Apps to join their motivated team at BILD, Germany's leading media brand. This role involves strategically developing and optimizing app campaigns for BILD and WELT news apps across platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, and Apple Ads. The manager will be responsible for budget, KPI monitoring, and App Store Optimization (ASO), collaborating closely with CRM, Product Management, and Analytics teams to drive holistic marketing strategies. The position offers an opportunity to contribute expertise and grow within a dynamic digital environment.

Must Have:
  • Develop app campaigns strategically and conceptually for BILD News App, Sport BILD App, WELT News App, and WELT Edition.
  • Set up, manage, and continuously optimize campaigns on Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, Apple Ads, and other platforms.
  • Assume budget responsibility and monitor KPIs.
  • Optimize App Store presence (ASO) across platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with CRM, Product Management, and Analytics colleagues.
  • Manage external agencies, service providers, and partners as needed.
  • Completed studies in economics or communication sciences (ideally with a marketing focus) or comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in performance or online marketing.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, implementing, and optimizing performance campaigns, especially app marketing.
  • Very good knowledge of Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, Apple Ads, Adjust, or AppsFlyer.
  • Profound understanding of tracking, attribution, and success control of marketing measures.
  • Very good German language skills, written and spoken.

What you will move with us:

  • You strategically and conceptually develop the app campaigns for the BILD News App, Sport BILD App, WELT News App and WELT Edition.
  • You independently set up, manage and continuously optimize campaigns via Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, Apple Ads and other platforms based on reports and creative approaches.
  • You take budget responsibility and always keep an eye on your KPIs.
  • You optimize the App Store presence (ASO) across the various platforms to sustainably increase reach and conversion.
  • You work closely with colleagues from CRM, Product Management and Analytics and thus contribute to a holistic marketing strategy.
  • If necessary, you confidently manage external agencies, service providers and partners.

What you bring with you:

  • Completed studies in economics or communication sciences (ideally with a focus on marketing) or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in performance or online marketing – whether in agencies, corporate marketing or as a freelancer.
  • Demonstrable experience in the independent planning, implementation and optimization of performance campaigns, with a special focus on app marketing.
  • Very good knowledge of common marketing and tracking tools such as Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, Apple Ads, as well as Adjust or AppsFlyer.
  • Profound understanding of tracking, attribution and success control of marketing measures.
  • You have a passion for journalistic products and a keen sense for dealing with editorial content.
  • You have very good German language skills, both written and spoken, and use your creativity specifically to convey messages effectively.
