Overseas Contractor

This role is for an Overseas Contractor with over 12 years of experience in development and app modernization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in hosting and configuring applications on IIS, and significant experience in modernizing and migrating applications to the Azure PaaS platform. This includes proficiency with Azure App Service, Functions, Kubernetes Service, and Container Instance. The role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to guide a team of 5+ members, and a deep understanding of application architecture, dependencies, integrations, and migration pathways. Key responsibilities involve hands-on web application development, database skills, and collaborating with various teams to ensure cloud adoption best practices.

Must Have

• 12+ Years of development and app modernization experience
• Experience in hosting and configuring applications on IIS
• Experience in modernization of Applications to Azure PaaS platform along with migration experience
• Expertise in application hosting, configuration, optimization in various Azure PaaS services: Azure App service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Instance
• Ability to understand application architecture, dependencies, and integrations
• Led and managed the team with the size more than 5 members
• Ability to technically guide the team
• Very good understanding of application migration scenarios and pathways
• Hands-on web application development skills
• Hands-on experience in developing and hosting web applications on Azure PaaS platform
• Primary database skills like database connectivity, configurations
• Ability to analyze application dependencies
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architect, Data Platform, DevOps, and Integration Teams to ensure cloud adoption follows standard best practices
• Well versed with containerizing web application frontend and web services
• Knowledge of hosting containerized application on Kubernetes
• Application performance assessment pre and post migration
• Ensure that the proposed solution covers Azure strategy, stakeholder management as well as the actual solution covering business, application and Infrastructure as well as commercial aspects
• Understanding customer Infra landscape
• Design Azure Landing Zone and provide the Azure target state solution architecture

Good to Have

• Work with Internal stakeholders, Customer stakeholders and Project Managers to understand the migration requirements and provide solutions accordingly
• Troubleshooting experience with Azure PaaS platform
• Basic understanding of containerization and AKS service
