Job Description

Tide is building a business management platform for small businesses, offering business accounts and administrative solutions. Launched in 2017, it serves over 1 million SMEs across the UK, India, and Germany. The PR & Communications Manager will help grow Tide's presence in Germany by driving awareness, trust, and reputation, building a strong news pipeline, leading German-focused campaigns, and managing media relationships.
Must Have:
  • Drive awareness, trust, and reputation for Tide in Germany.
  • Build and maintain a strong news pipeline for product and corporate announcements.
  • Lead German-focused campaigns on fintech, female entrepreneurship, and small business advocacy.
  • Manage relationships with tier-one and industry media; own German Press Office.
  • Partner with C-Suite and spokespeople for consistent messaging.
  • Anticipate and manage complex issues to safeguard Tide’s reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for strategic PR initiatives.
  • Own Tide’s messaging, commentary, and PR content for the German market.
  • Mid-senior level PR and communications experience (financial services/tech preferred).
  • Proven ability to build media relationships and secure quality coverage in Germany.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics into compelling stories.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Native-level German and fluent English communication skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As PR & Communications Manager, you will:

  • Help grow Tide’s presence in Germany by embedding yourself within local teams to drive awareness, trust, and reputation.
  • Build and maintain a strong news pipeline with impactful product and corporate announcements.
  • Lead German-focused campaigns on fintech, female entrepreneurship, and small business advocacy to expand Tide’s share of voice.
  • Manage relationships with tier-one and industry media, owning the German Press Office and all media interactions.
  • Partner with Tide’s C-Suite, spokespeople, and ambassadors to deliver consistent and compelling messaging across earned media and events.
  • Anticipate and manage complex issues, safeguarding and strengthening Tide’s reputation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Legal, Finance, Customer Support and other internal teams to turn strategic initiatives into influential PR.
  • Support the Head of PR & Communications and Social Media teams to integrate PR best practices across the business.
  • Contribute to company-wide communications as Tide scales, establishing strong processes and documentation.
  • Own Tide’s messaging, commentary, and PR content for the German market.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Solid mid-senior level experience in PR and communications, ideally within financial services, technology, or other high-growth environments.
  • Proven ability to build strong media relationships and deliver quality coverage in Germany.
  • The skill to simplify complex topics into clear, compelling stories for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Comfort working independently and decisively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Native-level German and fluent English communication skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and genuine passion for supporting small businesses.
