Principal Business Consulting and Advisory (gn) IT Asset Management

This role as Principal Business Consulting and Advisory in IT Asset Management involves being the central contact for complex license scenarios, compliance, and ITAM strategy for clients. You will provide strategic advice at C-level, develop SAM/ITAM processes, manage license and compliance, lead negotiations and audits, and implement risk management frameworks. The position is full-time, permanent, and nationwide in Germany.

Must Have

• Be the central contact for complex license scenarios, compliance, and ITAM strategy for clients.
• Provide strategic advice at C-level and support key decisions.
• Develop SAM/ITAM processes and governance models according to standards like ISO 19770 and FinOps.
• Define operating models, RACI structures, workflows, controls, and KPIs for efficient license management.
• Lead negotiations with manufacturers and professionally manage audits.
• Manage the compliance cycle and guide internal and external employees in True-Up and Renewals.
• Ensure entitlement data is of high quality and up-to-date.
• Support the optimization of contract and sourcing strategies in collaboration with Procurement.
• Implement continuous compliance, standardization, and risk reduction frameworks.
• Several years of experience in IT Asset Management, Software License Management, or IT Procurement.
• Deep knowledge of license models, contract interpretations, and compliance.
• Expertise in leading manufacturer license models, EULAs, metrics, maintenance, and cloud subscription models.
• Experience in audit defense, negotiation strategies, and argumentation.
• Proficiency with SAM/ITAM tools like Snow, Flexera, or ServiceNow.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills at management level.
• Excellent German and English language skills.
• Motivation to take responsibility and shape processes sustainably.

The role

Principal Business Consulting and Advisory (gn) IT Asset Management

Full-time | permanent | Location: nationwide | Start: immediately

• Take responsibility: You are the central contact person for complex license scenarios and compliance issues as well as for our customers' ITAM strategy.
• Strategic consulting: As a sparring partner at C-level, you support important decisions and accompany escalations.
• Design and optimize processes: You develop SAM/ITAM processes and governance models according to standards such as ISO 19770 and FinOps.
• License and compliance management: You define operating models, RACI structures, workflows, controls, and KPIs for efficient license management.
• Negotiations and audits: You confidently conduct negotiations with manufacturers and professionally accompany audits.
• Operational control: You manage the compliance cycle and guide internal and external employees in conducting True-Up and Renewals. You ensure that entitlement data is kept qualitative and up-to-date. In cooperation with Procurement, you support the optimization of contract and sourcing strategies.
• Risk management and standardization: You implement continuous compliance, standardization, and risk reduction frameworks.

What we need to see from you

• You have several years of experience in IT asset management, software license management, or IT procurement.
• Deep knowledge of license models, contract interpretations, and compliance distinguishes you.
• You are very familiar with license models of leading manufacturers, EULAs, metrics, maintenance, and cloud subscription models.
• You bring experience in audit defense, negotiation strategies, and argumentation.
• You are proficient with SAM/ITAM tools such as Snow, Flexera, or ServiceNow.
• Strong communication skills and negotiation skills at management level are among your strengths.
• Very good German and English language skills are a matter of course for you.
• Taking responsibility and sustainably shaping processes motivates you.
