Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Financial Advisor to act as a strategic finance partner to project teams across Asia. This role combines financial governance with commercial advisory, ensuring projects achieve profitability, compliance, and risk mitigation from bid stage through execution and close-out. You will provide insights on pricing, contract structures, and forecasts while collaborating with Project Managers to drive informed decisions and enhance overall project performance.

Must Have

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Project Managers
  • Advise on bidding strategies, pricing models, and risk provisions
  • Provide financial input into commercial strategies and delivery planning
  • Review subcontract financial terms for consistency with prime contracts and margin goals
  • Monitor financial aspects of customer contracts, including fee types, caps, and milestone triggers
  • Validate project structures in ERP systems (WBS, billing methods, rates, tax, revenue recognition)
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, delegations of authority, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Own monthly project-level forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy and alignment with FP&A targets
  • Conduct scenario planning and variance analysis to stress-test revenue and margins
  • Track mitigation plans for margin gaps and report progress to management
  • Analyze project KPIs, identify margin erosion risks, and recommend corrective actions
  • Participate in portfolio reviews and present insights on financial performance drivers
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring variances and implement solutions
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and respond to internal/external audit requests
  • Maintain accurate records and decision logs for compliance and governance
  • Work closely with Billing, Collections, FP&A, and Controllership teams to resolve escalations
  • Drive process improvements to enhance financial outcomes and cycle times
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 7–10 years of experience in project finance, commercial advisory, or financial planning within professional services, engineering, or construction industries
  • Strong financial and commercial expertise, including revenue recognition, margin optimization, and working capital management
  • Ability to provide strategic financial advice and influence decisions through analysis, modeling, and risk assessment
  • Proven experience managing projects across the full lifecycle with a focus on compliance and profitability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel
  • Adaptability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, multicultural environment

Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Partnering & Commercial Advisory

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Project Managers, advising on bidding strategies, pricing models, and risk provisions.

Contract Execution & Compliance

  • Monitor financial aspects of customer contracts, including fee types, caps, and milestone triggers.
