Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time QA Automation Engineer to establish robust automation foundations and migrate existing testing infrastructure to Playwright across two products. This role involves defining a lean testing pyramid, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure sustainable quality and coverage of critical flows. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright, CI/CD automation, and familiarity with modern frontend stacks like Vitest and React, along with the ability to coach teams on best practices.
Must Have
- Audit existing testing practices and infrastructure.
- Define and implement a lean testing pyramid.
- Migrate existing Cypress E2E tests to Playwright.
- Stand up new Playwright test suites.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish smoke test gating for critical flows.
- Collaborate with developers on Vitest unit/integration tests.
- Document frameworks and train internal QA/engineers.
- Continuously expand coverage of critical flows.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright in SaaS products.
- Proficiency with CI/CD automation.
- Familiarity with Vitest, React, and modern frontend stacks.
- Comfort working with Backendless or willingness to learn.
- Ability to coach teams on testing best practices.
- Strong communicator for QA, product, and engineering needs.

We’re looking for a full-time QA Automation Engineer who will split time across two products to build sustainable automation foundations, migrate us to Playwright, and enable our existing QA + engineering teams to maintain quality without slowing velocity.
Responsibilities
- Audit existing testing practices and infrastructure in both products.
- Define and implement a lean testing pyramid (unit, integration, component, and E2E).
- Migrate existing Cypress E2E tests into Playwright.
- Stand up new Playwright test suites from scratch.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Vercel / other infra).
- Establish smoke test gating for critical flows (signup, login, payments, booking, etc.).
- Collaborate with developers to scaffold Vitest unit/integration tests.
- Document frameworks and train internal QA/engineers to sustain coverage.
- Continuously expand coverage of critical flows over time while ensuring maintainability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright in real-world SaaS products.
- Experience migrating from Cypress to Playwright a strong plus.
- Proficiency with CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, Vercel, or similar).
- Familiarity with Vitest, React, and modern frontend stacks.
- Comfort working with Backendless or willingness to quickly learn its runtime model.
- Ability to coach teams on testing best practices and enforce lightweight discipline.
- Strong communicator; able to bridge QA, product, and engineering needs.
