SOFTSWISS is seeking a Ruby on Rails Developer to join their Casino Platform team. The role involves maintaining and evolving one of the leading platforms in the iGaming industry. Responsibilities include investigating and fixing product issues, automating manual customer requests, and enhancing platform stability through internal tools and automation. The developer will work on backend systems to ensure a seamless experience for operators and players, reducing manual load and improving operational reliability. This is a full-time, remote position with flexible working hours.
Must have:
  • 1+ years of development or L3 support experience
  • Strong Ruby/RoR programming skills
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Exceptional debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of web architecture
  • Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and Git
  • Willingness to self-develop and share knowledge
  • Intermediate or higher English and Russian (B1+)
Good to have:
  • Experience with logging systems (ELK)
  • Experience with monitoring systems (Sentry, Datadog)
  • Experience with event streaming/message brokers
  • Proficiency in task automation/scripting (Jenkins)
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis

Purpose of the Role

You’ll support and improve backend systems to deliver a seamless experience for operators and players across the platform. Your work will reduce manual load, eliminate recurring issues, and enhance the reliability of operations. You’ll help build internal tools and automation to streamline technical workflows and improve platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Together with the professional team, investigate and fix product issues, focusing on preventing them in the future
  • Automate manual and repetitive customer requests and routine operations.
  • Continuously growing your depth of knowledge on the products you support, as well as expanding to new technologies and domains as you learn.

  • Backend: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Sidekiq, Redis, WebSockets
  • Technologies and Tools: Docker, K8S, MinIO, Vault, Swagger, Dry-rb, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
  • Monitoring: Datadog, Zabbix, Sentry, Kibana

Required Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in development or L3 support.
  • Strong Ruby/RoR programming skills.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • Exceptional abilities in investigating, debugging, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of modern web architecture and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and Git.
  • Willingness to continuously self-develop and share knowledge with the team.
  • Intermediate or higher English and Russian (B1+).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with logging systems like ELK, monitoring systems like Sentry and Datadog, and the ability to read log files or error traces.
  • Experience with event streaming systems and message brokers.
  • Proficiency in automating routine tasks through scripting and/or other tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis processes.
