Job Description

Tencent Overseas IT seeks a Security Software Engineer I to maintain and improve security infrastructure, protect against cyber threats, and ensure compliance. Responsibilities include monitoring security alerts (SIEM), incident analysis and resolution, vulnerability assessments, remediation, and DevSecOps process design and implementation for game development studios. The role involves close collaboration with IT and other departments to integrate security measures across the organization and support security-related projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of networking, operating systems, information security principles, and relevant security tools and technologies.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Security Engineer to join our security & compliance team. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining and improving our security infrastructure, protecting our organization from cyber threats, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Perform initial analysis of security incidents and escalate as necessary.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans of network, systems, and applications.
  • Assist in the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Track and document vulnerability management activities and progress.
  • Design, build, and deploy DevSecOps processes and tools tailored to game development studios.
  • Develop and implement the security measures for our game products throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Provide support for security-related projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and information security principles.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, antivirus software, and SIEM systems.
  • Knowledge of common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay current with emerging security trends and technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and integrating security into continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Fast learner with CAN DO attitude

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $90,000 to $187,200 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
