Job Summary
WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Technologist or Senior Civil Engineer for their Melbourne Transport team. The role involves road and civil design development, focusing on integrated object-based model production using OpenRoads, and integrating with multi-disciplinary modelling processes. Responsibilities also include participating in safety in design assessments and supervising less experienced designers. Candidates should have experience in 2D/3D road and civil modelling, applying DTP, AustRoads, and PTV guidelines, and using ProjectWise.
Must Have
- Complete road and civil design development
- Strong focus on development and delivery of a complete integrated object-based model production using OpenRoads
- Integration with multi-disciplinary modelling processes, including digital engineering management processes
- Participation in safety in design assessment and review processes
- Technical review and supervision of less experienced designers and engineers as required
- Demonstrated experience in 2D functional design
- Demonstrated experience in 3D road and civil modelling, for arterial roads and freeways
- Recent application of the current Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), AustRoads and PTV guidelines on major projects is necessary
- Experienced in the use of ProjectWise for the management of design models and documentation
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

The Opportunity
Due to the ongoing success of our Australian operations, our Melbourne Transport team have a need for additional Roads / Highways / Civil Designer capability. We are inviting applicants for several roles that will be tailored to the candidates at the levels of Senior or Principal Technologist / Engineer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Complete road and civil design development – with a strong focus on development and delivery of a complete integrated object-based model production using OpenRoads
- Integration with multi-disciplinary modelling processes, including digital engineering management processes
- Participation in safety in design assessment and review processes
- Technical review and supervision of less experienced designers and engineers as required
Your background, skills and experience should include:
- Demonstrated experience in 2D functional design, and 3D road and civil modelling, for arterial roads and freeways – including roundabouts, signalised intersections, and freeway interchange designs
- OpenRoads experience is highly desirable; other software experience may be considered
- Recent application of the current Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), AustRoads and PTV guidelines on major projects is necessary
- Experienced in the use of ProjectWise for the management of design models and documentation
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
