Job Summary
Onward Search is seeking a Senior Creative Director, Social Media for a leading entertainment and media company. This full-time, on-site role in Los Angeles, CA, involves leading a social team, developing platform-specific content strategies, and executing high-performing social content across various platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. The director will also manage external agency relationships, oversee content workflows, and contribute to creative decision-making in fast-paced environments, requiring 8+ years of relevant experience.
Must Have
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a small internal social team.
- Serve as the primary creative liaison with external agencies.
- Develop platform-specific content strategies for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other emerging channels.
- Ideate and execute trend-aware, high-performing social content tailored to each platform’s unique style and audience behavior.
- Create quick-turn content—including shooting, editing, and posting—directly from mobile devices when needed.
- Attend film shoots and key events to capture behind-the-scenes content; travel up to 40% depending on production schedules.
- Generate innovative ideas independently and in partnership with vendors.
- Oversee timelines, deliverables, asset workflows, and communication between internal and external teams.
- Ensure seamless execution of campaigns and cross-functional content initiatives.
- Contribute to creative decision-making during shoots and provide real-time solutions in fast-paced environments.
- 8+ years of experience in creative direction, social media leadership, or digital content development.
- Proven track record leading social teams and delivering standout platform-native creative.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, trends, audience behaviors, and content best practices.
- Strong portfolio showcasing social-first creative work and content strategy.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience with AI tools or workflows and ability to guide responsible usage.
- Experience with live social coverage (premieres, red carpets, fan events).
- Strong understanding of entertainment industry competitive trends and social engagement drivers.
- Familiarity with paid media and performance metrics.
- Comfortable directing talent and collaborating with production crews.
- Understanding of community management and fan engagement strategies.

- Strong portfolio showcasing social-first creative work and content strategy (one standout piece is acceptable).
- Background in media or entertainment strongly preferred.
- Highly proactive, ambitious, and able to thrive in high-volume, fast-moving environments.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience with AI tools or workflows and ability to guide responsible usage.
- Experience with live social coverage (premieres, red carpets, fan events).
