Job Summary
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Financial Accountant will be a key member of the Belfast Finance team, responsible for developing and maintaining financial procedures and processes. This role involves accurate USGAAP Profit and Loss reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, regular forecasting for UK/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand entities, and managing payroll and intercompany recharging. The accountant will also ensure compliance with statutory requirements, assist with statutory accounts preparation, manage VAT returns, and provide financial insights to commercial teams. Additionally, the role focuses on process improvement, ERP system support, and mentoring junior staff.
Must Have
- Accurate Profit and Loss reporting in USGAAP
- Balance sheet reconciliations and best practices
- Regular accurate forecasting for UK/Ireland/Australia/NZ
- Manage bank reconciliations, payroll, intercompany recharging
- Ensure statutory compliance in UK, Australia, New Zealand
- Assist with UK/Australia/NZ Statutory Accounts for audit
- Prepare management reports for stakeholders
- VAT return preparation and submission
- Collaborate with commercial teams for financial insights
- ACA/CIMA or ACA qualified Chartered Accountant
- Experience with IFRS, UK and US GAAP
- Previous statutory audit experience
- Strong knowledge of VAT implications (UK & Ireland)
- Strong computerised ERP systems experience
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge

Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Director in GolfNow’s International HQ in Belfast, the Senior Financial Accountant will help develop and maintain procedures and processes to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives as the business scales and positions itself as the hub of International operations. They will be a key member of the wider Belfast Finance team, adding real value to the business by providing expertise, information and reports to inform and contribute to strategic decision making.
The Senior Financial Accountant will contribute to the function by carrying out a range of duties that include (but are not limited to);
Financial Reporting and Consolidation
- Accurate Profit and Loss reporting in USGAAP including detailed monthly variance analysis of actual vs budget vs ongoing estimate.
- Review and preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and implement best in practice procedures for balance sheet support.
- Regular accurate forecasting of operations within the UK / Ireland / Australia and New Zealand entities.
- Management of bank reconciliations, payroll, intercompany recharging and ensuring costs are captured in the correct entity and period.
- Delivery of ad-hoc reporting requests, detailed account analysis and other duties as needed to support the monthly and quarterly close process.
- Collaboration with the International and wider ICG Ltd US Finance team on the treatment of intercompany revenue and expenses.
- Review and preparation of monthly journal entries as part of monthly and quarterly close in accordance with US GAAP.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Assistance with preparation of UK/ Australian and New Zealand Statutory Accounts for the Audit process and be a key contact for requests between the audit firm and the accounting team, as well as review support for audit.
- Preparation of management reports for stakeholders of ICG Ltd including external partners and Internal management functions.
- VAT return preparation and submission to HMRC, Revenue Commissioners and ATO in Australia/ New Zealand including reconciliation to Revenues.
Business Partnering & Analysis
- Collaborate with regional commercial teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Analyse performance trends and variances across territories.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Analysis of the bad debt for accounts receivables to increase collectability.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial processes.
- Support ERP system enhancements and integrations.
- Implement best practices in financial controls and governance
- Contribute to continuous review of policies, processes and procedures as well as local implementation and embedding for continuous improvement or regulatory compliance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor junior finance staff and support cross-functional collaboration.

Minimum requirements;
- ACA/ CIMA or ACA qualified Chartered Accountant with up to date CPD requirements and the ability to demonstrate a solid accounting background, technical expertise and the tracking and reporting of business performance metrics.
- Ability to demonstrate experience of working within IFRS and relevant regional accounting standards incl UK and US GAAP.
- Ability to demonstrate previous statutory audit experience and working with auditors to meet all obligations.
- Strong knowledge of VAT implications for the business whilst working in the UK & Ireland.
- Strong computerised ERP systems experience and understanding.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
Additional skills and experience that would be desirable;
