Job Summary
The Senior Manager, FP&A will be a highly visible and influential member of the Finance team, reporting to the Director, Strategic Finance. This role involves serving as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, leveraging financial data for actionable insights, and driving decision-making. Responsibilities include leading a small team, executing annual operating plans, financial forecasts, and analyzing actuals. The manager will also prepare management reports, act as a trusted finance partner, foster partnerships across departments, and collaborate with Accounting to enhance efficiency and understanding of key financial metrics.
Must Have
- 7-10 years of progressive FP&A experience
- Prior experience managing a team
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- Proficiency in analyzing operational and financial data to deliver strategic insights
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stay flexible through growth and change

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Finance, the Senior Manager, FP&A will be a highly visible and influential member of the Finance team. This individual will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and the broader business, leveraging financial data to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that drive decision-making. The role requires a hands-on approach to building and maintaining robust financial models, as well as leading the ongoing evolution of our financial planning processes. In addition, the Senior Manager, FP&A will bring a strong passion for business partnering and people management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for scale and efficiency.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage a small team, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and professional development.
- Execute the annual operating planning process, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus prior periods, plan, and/or forecasts.
- Prepare management reporting for the Director, FP&A and Executive team — analyze results, distill/synthesize business performance indicators, assess business risk, and timely communicate risks and opportunities.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to business leaders and teams, delivering data-driven recommendations and insights that drive performance and strategic decision-making.
- Foster partnerships with user acquisition, sales, marketing, product, and tech to improve unit economics, optimize spend and drive growth for the business.
- Collaborate with Accounting to improve the overall efficiency of the finance organization and enhance visibility and depth of understanding of key financial metrics.
What you’ll bring to Mistplay
- 7-10 years of progressive FP&A experience, including prior experience managing a team.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing operational and financial data to deliver strategic insights.
- Strong leader with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and stay flexible through growth and change.
- Demonstrated ability in building relationships across the organization and driving cross-functional results.
