Job Description

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance developer productivity for Fusion 360 and Inventor products. This role involves creating, improving, and maintaining development infrastructure and automation workflows. The successful candidate will collaborate on CI/CD and automation systems, develop tools, monitor operations, and automate deployment tasks to support the engineering organization.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with REST APIs of tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
  • Experience with large-scale software build, integration, and test environments (preferably C++-based).
  • Experience with Ansible, Packer, and other configuration management tools.
  • Project & Collaboration Management Systems (JIRA, Confluence Wiki).
Must Have:
  • Collaborate with various teams on implementation, usage, and improvement of CI/CD, Automation systems for Fusion 360 and Inventor.
  • Support the engineering organization with day-to-day operations.
  • Develop tools/services to improve the productivity of Inventor engineers.
  • Monitor and automate system operations to detect potential problems.
  • Automate service deployment tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Shell, Python, Ruby, Groovy etc.).
  • Perform access administration, troubleshooting, and trouble ticket administration.
  • Maintain and monitor software builds and build infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy for automation/service deployment.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace).
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Git and GitHub.
  • Experience with Frontend framework (e.g., React).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure) and deploying applications on them.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MacOS and Linux based development environments.
  • Excellent programming skills, strong analytical abilities, and practical communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and a strong team player with the flexibility to adapt to organizational change.

Position Overview

Fusion 360 is one of the leading products developed by Autodesk, and it has gained immense popularity in recent years. It is a cloud-based 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE software that offers a comprehensive suite of tools for product design, engineering, and manufacturing, and Inventor® 3D CAD software provides professional-grade mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation tools.

Having a team of a few hundred developers we pay a special attention to development infrastructure and automation of developer workflows. The successful candidate would help us create, improve, and maintain the tools making developers more productive.

Responsibilities:
