This Shipping Supervisor role is crucial for ensuring clear and effective communication across departments, maintaining task adherence, and upholding process quality. The supervisor is responsible for enforcing safety, security, hazardous materials, and Department of Homeland Security guidelines. Key duties include leading a team of parcel Quality Auditors, investigating quality issues, and actively coaching and developing team members on the warehouse floor. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to operational excellence within a fast-paced distribution environment.

Must Have:
  • Lead and direct parcel Quality Auditors.
  • Investigate and report on daily quality issues.
  • Coach, teach, develop, and provide performance feedback to team members.
  • Assign daily tasks based on individual skills.
  • Maximize efficiency using RF guns.
  • Ensure quality checks during packing and shipping preparation.
  • Work in WMS for data retrieval and problem resolution.
  • Ensure correct shipment of international and hazardous material orders.
  • Monitor Inventory Control and employee productivity.
  • Resolve customer complaints in Zendesk.
  • Hold team accountable for attendance and performance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in distribution/shipping environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Lead and manage others, promoting teamwork.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Be proactive in anticipating and alerting others to problems.
  • Possess high detail orientation.
  • Take initiative.
  • Handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload.
  • Be an accomplished contributor in cross-functional team environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Position Summary:

Shipping Supervisor must be able to communicate clearly and effectively not only with employees within their department to ensure they remain on task, but also with other departments to help correct process breakdown and ensure quality. The Shipping Supervisor also ensures that all work is done according to safety and security guidelines, with attention to guidelines regarding hazardous materials and those mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Shift- Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs a group of parcel Quality Auditors.
  • Investigates and reports on daily quality issues.
  • Spends approximately 75% of the time on the warehouse floor with team members, building relationships, coaching, teaching, developing, and providing performance feedback.
  • Assign daily tasks as appropriate based on individual team member skills.
  • Maximize efficiency using RF guns in all areas (where appropriate).
  • Ensure quality checks are made at the appropriate stages of packing and preparation for shipping.
  • Work in the WMS for data and transaction retrieval and problem resolution.
  • Provide input to the Warehouse Manager regarding process improvement for greater efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure the correct shipment of international orders and hazardous material orders.
  • Monitor Inventory Control and employee’s productivity and adjust as needed.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints in Zendesk.
  • Hold team accountable for attendance and performance.
  • Act as backup for receiving when needed.
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.

Experience Required:

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a distribution/shipping environment. Experience working in SAP, SAP S4 would be preferable.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to lead and manage others, while promoting a teamwork environment.
