Job Summary
Oura is seeking a hands-on Software Test Manager & Technical Lead to lead and elevate their software testing strategy. This hybrid role combines leadership and direct technical involvement, guiding a talented team of test engineers while refining testing capabilities, processes, and methodologies. The manager will contribute to continuous improvements in the E2E test strategy and work closely with cross-functional teams across the US and Oulu, Finland, to deliver high-quality products, ensuring quality standards and adopting new test technologies.
Must Have
- Lead and mentor a software test team.

- Strong hands-on background in test automation and Python.

- Experience with LLMs and AI-driven dev/test tools.

We are seeking a hands-on Software Test Manager & Technical Lead to lead and elevate our software testing strategy. This hybrid role combines leadership and direct technical involvement. You will guide a talented team of test engineers and also own and refine testing capabilities, processes, and methodologies, contributing to continuous improvements in our E2E test strategy. And work closely with cross-functional teams across the US and Oulu, Finland to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the overall test strategy for Oura’s software platforms (mobile, backend, and data systems).
- Lead and mentor a high-performing software test team. Driving culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, data science and product teams to align on test objectives and quality standard
- Balance managerial responsibilities with technical hands-on work
Test Execution and Reporting
- Design, drive and implement automated test frameworks and tools to enable reliable and scalable testing (e.g., Pytest, Appium).
- Contribute directly to test automation, CI/CD integrations, and test data pipelines
- Visualize data and metrics to communicate test coverage and quality status to stakeholders.
Quality Assurance & Process
- Define KPIs and dashboards for test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
- Champion quality standards, ensuring all teams adhere to best practices and processes.
- Introduce AI-assisted testing methods and advanced analytics to enhance test effectiveness and reliability
- Establish best practices for regression testing, exploratory testing, and release validation.
Technical Leadership
- Be the technical go-to person for test automation, tooling, and framework design decisions
- Coach engineers on code quality, maintainability, and automation principles.
- Evaluate and adopt new test technologies and methodologies to scale testing for future Oura products and services.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience leading software testing efforts and team in a product-driven environment.
- Strong hands-on background in test automation and scripting (Python required).
- Experience with mobile app testing (iOS & Android), API testing, and cloud-based backend testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience with LLMs and AI-driven dev/test tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Compensation Range:
- Region 1: $162,000 - $203,000
- Region 2: $150,000 - $187,000
- Region 3: $139,000 - $174,000
