Job Summary
The SCM program at CAE trains and qualifies members to provide 'right seat support' for clients attending aviation courses. This on-call position in Montreal involves delivering simulator support to diverse clients, maintaining proficiency as a qualified crew member, and potentially assisting with simulator evaluation events. Must Have
- Provide 'right seat support' in the simulator.
- Maintain proficiency as a qualified crew member.
- Meet all TSA requirements.
- Commit to training sessions.
- Provide a minimum of 35 events in a rolling 12-month period.
- Live within the Greater Montreal Area.
- Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL).
- Instrument rating airplane multi-engine land, with 50 hours of multi-engine and instrument experience.
- A minimum of 250 hours with written IATRA or 750 hours with SAMRON and SAMRA exams.

- A 'true' professional character with the ability to create a welcoming and successful learning environment.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across all mediums (spoken, written) and at all levels.
- Commitment to the customer - providing continuous 'red carpet' customer service.

The SCM program is designed to train and qualify program members to provide “right seat support” for our clients attending courses at our facilities.
We seek local candidates for our Montreal location for this on-call SCM position.
What to expect?
- CAE offers a comprehensive training program to help transform your knowledge and skills as a pilot and help clients through their training as a second in command.
- Responsible for delivering seat support in the simulator to a wide array of clients with varied experiences and objectives.
- This can range from TC or FAA 135 and 91 operations to EASA or any number of NAAs. While you may not hold a type rating in the aircraft, you are expected to maintain proficiency in your skill set as a qualified crew member. Your position may also include seat support for simulator evaluation events from CAE or any governing agency wishing to verify the status of our simulators.

Job requirements include:
- Workdays of up to 11 or more hours (typically not more than 6 hours in the simulator at one time).
- Must provide 3 to 5 weeks or more of time to complete the initial training on the platform the SCM will be supporting.
- The workday of an SCM can be scheduled for any day of the week at any time of day, per the candidate’s availability.
- SCMs will need to meet all TSA requirements.
- SCMs must be able to commit to their training session if agreed upon previously.
- SCMs will be expected to provide a minimum of 35 events in a rolling 12-month period to stay current and receive recurrent training
Qualifications:
- Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate (preferred)
- Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL)
- Instrument rating airplane multi-engine land, with 50 hours of multi-engine and instrument experience
- A minimum of 250 hours with written IATRA or a minimum of 750 hours with SAMRON and SAMRA exams
- Available for a minimum of 35 events in 12 months to stay current and receive recurrent training
- Must live within the Greater Montreal Area.
- Scheduling is at a minimum of 5 hours at a time and could be scheduled 24/7

In addition to receiving formal aircraft SIC simulator training for select aircraft types, the SCM will have the opportunity to earn and then attend, at no cost one of the many advanced programs and enrichment courses provided by CAE.
