PayPay, a fintech company with 70 million users, is seeking a System Infrastructure Development and Automation Promotion Specialist (AI Utilization Promotion). This role is within the Business Promotion Division, which supports PayPay's growth across payment, finance, and data domains. The specialist will lead automation and systemization using technology like RPA, workflow systems, data integration platforms, and AI solutions to enhance operational efficiency and quality. The position involves driving DX in business operations, either in the Business Support Department (optimizing and automating group-wide processes) or the Infrastructure Planning Department (planning and implementing AI/data-driven solutions).

About the Role

Introduction to the Business Promotion Division

The Business Promotion Division serves as both the "offense" and "defense" to support business growth, spanning PayPay's payment, finance, and data domains to achieve "safe and secure" and "efficient business operations." This organization drives business transformation across various areas, including operation strategy formulation, corporate data utilization, risk management, and the use of AI and technology, thereby supporting PayPay's safe and secure financial service infrastructure.

In this recruitment position, you will lead automation and systemization using technology to improve the efficiency and quality of business operations. You will structurally grasp on-site issues and promote DX (Digital Transformation) of operations using RPA, workflow systems, data integration platforms, and AI solutions.

*The scope of work varies by department. While there is a single entry point for applications to two departments, you will choose one department during the recruitment process.

Roles and Missions of Each Team

Business Support Department

Role: Supports each PayPay division's operations, from taking over tasks and managing them, to reducing man-hours, improving, and automating those tasks. It is an organization of about 15 members, aged 30s to mid-40s, established in October 2025.

Mission:

1. Eliminate waste and inefficiencies in business and organization from a company-wide optimal perspective.

2. Contribute to stability by eliminating reliance on individuals and manual work in business and services.

3. Create an environment where each department can focus on core tasks.

You will have a unique experience of creating services and operations from scratch in collaboration with other departments.

Infrastructure Planning Department

Role: Utilizes expertise in AI, data analysis, and system development to fundamentally evolve PayPay's business operations. It optimizes business processes that support services by leveraging AI models, machine learning, data pipelines, and automation platforms, achieving scalable and high-quality business operations. It consists of two teams: Development Project Promotion and Actual Development, with about 12 members aged late 20s to mid-40s.

Mission: The department's overall mission is to contribute to PayPay Group's business by maximizing IT investment effects. Specifically, the missions for each team are as follows:

##### Infrastructure Planning Department: Development Project Promotion (Business Domain AI Planner)

  • Promote overall optimal system development by accompanying the requestor, not just within the framework of a general PMO, in system development projects.
  • Adjust QCD based on the development plan as a liaison with the system development department.
  • Propose solutions aiming for overall optimization as a consultation point for IT solutions within the division.
  • Actively challenge and verify new technologies as a department promoting AI utilization within the division.

##### Infrastructure Planning Department: Development Engineer (Business Domain Engineer)

  • Implement safe automation of manual operations in a short timeframe.
  • Serve as the owner of the data warehouse assigned to the division, performing data maintenance and management.
  • Actively challenge and verify new technologies as a department promoting AI utilization within the division.
  • Aim for development democratization, establish governance such as development rules, and constantly challenge and verify new development methods.

  • Redesigning business processes, promoting system automation (utilizing ChatGPT and generative AI, code development, RPA), and labor-saving.
  • Creating system requirements for automation.
  • Executing cost reduction and efficiency improvement through business outsourcing.
  • Identifying and proposing reductions for unprofitable operations.
  • Supporting operation design and construction for new initiatives in each department.
  • Collecting and analyzing issues and needs related to various internal operations.
  • Reorganizing operations from a PayPay Group-wide optimal perspective.

##### 2-1. Infrastructure Planning Department: Development Project Promotion (Business Domain AI Planner)

Define "what AI can do" and plan/design IT solutions to achieve it. Act as a hub between the business side and the development side, leading the realization of an AI-powered automation platform.

  • Smooth promotion of development projects including AI utilization.
  • Management and support for multiple projects, from small to large scale.
  • Planning and design of IT solutions (especially AI-related) considering overall optimization.
  • Grand design planning and design of an AI-powered automation platform.
  • Promoting AI utilization within the department (and company-wide).

##### 2-2. Infrastructure Planning Department: Development Engineer (Business Domain Engineer)

Rapidly develop and implement tools and systems that achieve business efficiency using AI (especially generative AI) and data technology. This is the operational unit that transforms PayPay Group's operations through the power of technology.

  • Development of operation systems using Python and low-code tools (design, development, testing, promotion of scaled deployment).
  • Planning and implementation of automation and efficiency improvements through the introduction of machine learning and AI models.
  • Development of business support tools utilizing generative AI (LLM) and natural language processing.
  • Construction and improvement of data integration platforms and ETL pipelines.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other departments such as engineers, data scientists, and business managers.
