Job Description

Sika is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative for its Roofing business in the New York City area. This role involves providing technical sales support to customers including contractors, architects, consultants, and building owners to achieve sales and profit objectives. Key responsibilities include overseeing specification activity, managing roofing contractor accounts, establishing owner relationships, and providing sales activity reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and writing skills, along with knowledge of the roofing industry.
Good To Have:
  • Associates Degree, BA/BS Preferred
  • Understanding of the single ply roofing industry
  • Computer proficiency
  • Outstanding presentation abilities
Must Have:
  • Provide technical sales support at the regional level to customers
  • Achieve pre-determined sales and profit objectives
  • Oversee specification activity through Roofing Consultants, Architects, Engineers and all other influencing parties
  • Manage roofing contractor accounts including bid returns, receivables, territory coverage
  • Establish and manage key owner relationships and activities within territory
  • Provide weekly, monthly sales activity reports
  • Minimum of three - five years of sales or related experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills
  • Knowledge about the roofing industry

Responsibilities & Opportunities

Sika is looking for an experienced Sales Representative to join its growing team in the New York City area for the Roofing business. The sales representative is responsible to provide technical sales support at the regional level to customers (contractors, architects, consultants, and building owners) to achieve pre-determined sales and profit objectives. The candidate needs to have excellent communication, organizational and writing skills, and knowledge about the roofing industry. This position reports to the Area Sales Manager & Regional Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Position Sika as a company that provides quality products and service
  • Coordinate with local manufacturer’s representatives to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Create and identify new market opportunities
  • Solely responsible to oversee specification activity through Roofing Consultants, Architects, Engineers and all other influencing parties
  • Roofing contractor account management to include bid returns, receivables, territory coverage
  • Establish and manage key owner relationships and activities within territory
  • Provide weekly, monthly sales activity reports

Preferred Skills

  • Associates Degree, BA/BS Preferred
  • Minimum of three - five years of sales or related experience, preferably to the owner and architectural communities
  • Understanding of the single ply roofing industry
  • Computer proficiency
