Wlan Test Engineer Senior

The Senior WLAN Test Engineer will be responsible for participating in Wi-Fi software planning and development, providing testing inputs, estimates, and identifying risks. The role involves staying updated with new Wi-Fi standards, creating high-quality test plans, reports, and automation scripts, and collaborating with development teams for issue resolution.

Must Have

• 2+ years in Software Test Engineering (or 1+ with Master's degree)
• 3+ years hands-on system software test & automation experience
• Proven experience with wireless protocols (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, WFA Wi-Fi specifications)
• Experience in IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocol stack testing in embedded environments
• Excellent understanding of software test methodologies
• Good understanding of chip development life cycle, processor architectures, and peripherals
• Strong debugging skills on embedded platforms
• Experience with software engineering tools (code management, bug tracking)
• Proficiency in C, C++, and scripting languages (PERL/PYTHON/TCL)
• Experience with Linux test environments and Perforce

General Summary:

• Actively participate in Wi-Fi software planning and development discussions to provide the inputs from testing perspective.
• Provide Estimates to manager for all tasks and execute them as per plan. Provide inputs on dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Keep up to date with new Wi-Fi standards, testing and certification programs and provide inputs in various internal architecture and planning discussions.
• Provide good quality test plans, test reports, automation scripts & defects. Interface with peers in development teams to sort technical issues and provide support for resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of work or academic experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
• 3+ years of hands-on system software test & automation experience
• Proven Experience of wireless protocols and especially IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and WFA Wi-Fi specifications (AP, STA, P2P, WPS, WFD, co-existence etc.)
• Experience in doing IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocol stack testing in embedded environment specially on a wireless semiconductor chip.
• Excellent and proven understanding of software test methodologies. Good understanding of chip development life cycle and exposure to various processor architectures and peripherals
• Good understanding of software test and debug techniques on embedded platforms. Strong Debugging skills.
• Experience of working with software engineering tools such as code management systems and bug tracking tools
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with C, C++ or similar scripting languages. Hands on experience with at least 1 scripting languages preferably PERL/PYTHON/TCL shell scripting.
