Job Description

Google Quantum AI seeks a Hardware Engineer for Wafer Process Integration to develop new integrated semiconductor wafer processes for next-generation quantum devices. Responsibilities include developing multi-wafer 3D integrated processes and TSVs (through silicon vias), creating new materials for quantum devices, owning fabrication equipment, implementing procedures, documenting processes, and training others. The role requires experience in semiconductor fabrication processes (lithography, deposition, etch, etc.) in a cleanroom environment and collaboration with a team. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing and sustaining semiconductor fabrication processes in a cleanroom environment.
Experience in one or more conventional wafer fabrication areas such as lithography, deposition, etch, photoresist strip, singulation, or metrology.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in related technical field.
6 years of experience working in semiconductor device R&D or production environments.
Experience in MEMS device fabrication, 3D integration, and wafer level packaging.
Experience with etching, thin film, materials characterization, CAD tools, wafer level probing, failure analysis, and packaging.

Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.

In this role, you will be developing new integrated semiconductor wafer processes. You will develop novel fabrication techniques and process transfer, create proper documentation effectively and summarize and communicate results, and train others on the proper use of process equipment. You will collaborate effectively with fellow teammates.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Fabricate Google’s next generation quantum devices.
Develop multi-wafer 3D integrated processes and TSVs (through Si vias).
Develop new materials for making quantum devices.
Own certain fabrication equipment, including on-demand troubleshooting and process stability.
Implement procedures, create clear documentation, and train technicians and engineers on production and development tool sets.
