Mistral AI is seeking a Head of Developer Experience and Community to lead and scale its efforts in growing and nurturing a vibrant community of developers using their AI technology. This role involves setting the vision and strategy for enhancing developer experience, creating engaging programs and content, and fostering a community of passionate advocates. Responsibilities include community building and management, developer advocacy by representing the community's voice, developer enablement through high-quality content creation and support, and developer evangelism to increase awareness of Mistral AI's expertise. The role also entails team leadership and development for developer relations professionals.
Must have:
  • 8+ years in developer relations/advocacy/evangelism
  • 6+ years leading and managing teams
  • Experience in AI, Developer Tooling, or Data companies
  • Proven track record building developer communities
  • Strong technical background, including Generative AI
  • Analytical and strategic thinker
  • Passion for technology and developer ecosystem
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Developer Experience and Community to lead and scale our efforts to grow and nurture a vibrant community of developers using our technology to build AI solutions. From developer onboarding to developer support, evangelism and advocacy, you will set the vision and strategy for how we enhance our developer experience, create programs and content that engage developers, and foster a community of passionate advocates. You will play a critical role in driving the adoption of our solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensuring that our developer community is engaged, enabled, and successful.

What you will do

Community Building and Management:
Develop and execute a strategy and plan to rapidly grow our community of builders.Establish goals, objectives and metrics to focus our efforts and measure engagement and success. Build and nurture relationships with developers and builders that help us to understand and engage our community.

Developer Advocacy:
Serve as the voice of the developer community within the company, gathering and analyzing insights from builders to help us improve and evolve our offerings and how we help developers utilize them. Identify and help address pain points in the developer journey to ensure a successful experience for developers.

Developer Enablement and Support:
While collaborating with marketing and technical teams, drive a strategic plan and process to create and distribute high-quality technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, demos, documentation, and videos. Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to ensure the creation of compelling content that showcases our products and services. Guide our strategy and plans to engage and aid developers and builders across channels, sites and tools to ensure their success.

Developer Evangelism:
Create and drive our strategy and plan to increase awareness and interest in our expertise, vision and solutions. Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, partners, and developer communities. Leverage internal subject matter experts and thought leaders to engage and participate in  relevant developer communities, sharing valuable insights and perspectives.

Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor and scale a team of developer relations, developer evangelism and community professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Set clear strategic goals and objectives for the team and ensure they are met.

Who you are
 8+ years of experience in developer relations, advocacy, or evangelism 
6+ years of experience leading and managing teamsExperience working in AI, Developer Tooling, or Data companies.
You’ve owned and grown the developer relations, advocacy, or evangelism function from 0 to 1 at multiple companies.
Proven track record of building and managing developer communities.
Strong technical background, including previous work in Generative AI.
Analytical in nature and a strategic thinker, able to connect developer relations to marketing and business outcomes.
Passion for technology and a deep understanding of the developer ecosystem.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
