Job Description

Asobo Studio, a veteran game developer with over 20 years of experience, is hiring an AR/VR/XR Engineer Intern for its HoloForge B2B department in Bordeaux. This 6-month end-of-study internship focuses on developing and integrating advanced tracking systems for immersive experiences. The role requires strong C++ and Unity/C# skills, a keen interest in AR/VR technologies, and an operational level of French. The intern will work closely with an experienced team, contributing to innovative projects for major international clients, with a high potential for a permanent position upon successful completion.

HoloForge is Asobo Studio's B2B department, responsible for developing AR/VR/XR applications since 2011. You will join an ambitious and pioneering team in the holographic world, providing concrete answers to the needs of major French and international groups (industry, culture, entertainment, health, etc.). You will have the opportunity to work on adding a mobile AR modality to our projects (Android/iOS).

Your team

Within the HoloForge team, 10 people, you will be supervised by the Lead Programmer as part of a 6-month internship in Bordeaux.

Your missions

  • You will work on the development of a tracking system for immersive experiences, in close collaboration with the rest of the development team.
  • You will conduct a state-of-the-art review of existing technical solutions (Location Based Entertainment solutions, UWB technology, or fiducial markers).
  • You will develop prototypes in an iterative mode to validate technical and ergonomic choices.
  • You will present the results to the rest of the development team, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches proposed.
  • You will integrate this system into a production context and actively participate in the project.
  • You will update our continuous integration environment so that these new devices are fully integrated into our production process.

The fundamentals for success in this role

  • You are currently pursuing a Bac+5 degree in computer science and are looking for an end-of-study internship.
  • You have a particular interest in new technologies, especially virtual reality or augmented reality.
  • You identify with the values of Innovation, Agility, and Team Spirit.
  • You are sensitive to issues of ergonomics, software architecture, and software quality.
  • You are very comfortable with the C++ programming language, as well as the Unity / C# environment.
  • You have an operational level in French (written and oral).
