We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Talent Business Process Engineer to architect, optimize, and sustain the foundational processes that empower our Talent organization to support efficiency, agility, and business impact. This is not a traditional HR operations analyst role. You will be the process + change + AI enabler for Talent, driving transformation through innovative solutions and efficient processes.
This is a 6-month contract position, working remotely anywhere in Canada.
Position Overview
The Talent Business Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and optimizing core workflows across the Talent organization, covering Talent Management, Recruiting, Enablement and Learning & Development. This role partners with Talent leadership, managers, and operational teams to identify inefficiencies, design future-state processes, and prepare the organization to effectively leverage AI and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate combines process excellence expertise with a deep understanding of change management in people-focused functions.
Responsibilities
- Process Mapping & Analysis: Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for process improvement and innovation across the Talent lifecycle—including talent acquisition, onboarding, and development. Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, high-effort/low-value steps, and those that have the highest potential for impact
- Future-State Design: Redesign processes for efficiency, scalability, and improved employee/candidate experience. Lead workshops, working sessions, and design sprints with stakeholders from Talent, People Experience, Business Partners, and other functions to co-create, streamline, and validate process designs including intake requests and handoffs. Recommend where to incorporate AI and digital solutions to streamline operations, partnering with TA Ops, HRIS, and IT to integrate with ATS and CRM. Recommend guardrails for ethical AI use (bias monitoring, candidate data privacy, human-in-the-loop decision-making
- Portfolio Support: Build frameworks (e.g., opportunity scoring models) to help Talent leaders prioritize transformation opportunities including where to leverage tools including AI. Support portfolio planning with a balanced approach including quick wins and strategic bets. Establish KPIs for AI workflows (e.g., time to hire, cost per hire, recruiter productivity, candidate satisfaction, completion rates & experience scores)
- Develop Change Management & Adoption Roadmap
- Devise future roadmap and advise on how changes can best be adopted and embedded
- Support the roadmap by developing playbooks, documentation using visual tools, and training for new workflows. Establish an up-to-date centralized process hub (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in business process engineering, operations strategy, or continuous improvement
- Familiarity with HR functions (talent management, recruiting, L&D) preferred
- Experience with HRIS and workflow solutions (e.g., Workday, LinkedIn, ServiceNow)
- Strong skills in process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, or similar methodologiesHands-on experience with AI/ML concepts and implementation (i.e., HR Tech integrations)
- Strong change management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in business process analysis, operational engineering, or HR process improvement
- Advanced proficiency with process mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro, Visio) and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Strategic mindset with a strong grasp of tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies inherent in process design
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Talent, HR, or Employee Experience processes within SaaS or technology-driven organizations
- Recent experience with significant technology / AI transformation at scale
- Master’s degree in business administration, IT, Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Certification or practical experience in change management (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR), Lean, Six Sigma, or process governance frameworks
- Knowledge of service design, design thinking, or user experience methods
- Ability to visualize and communicate how process changes impact people, systems, and business outcomes
- Experience with data analysis tools and a strong orientation toward using data and metrics to drive decisions
- Key talent processes are streamlined, well-documented, and easily understood by employees
- A prioritized workflow portfolio identifies where technology including AI will be adopted for efficiency & improved experience
- A transformational roadmap identifies change management timing, owners & activities
- Stakeholders recognize and value the clarity, efficiency, and impact of your process designs
- Process performance indicators demonstrate measurable improvement in efficiency, business impact and user satisfaction
