We are Battlefield Quality Verification (QV), a key part of Electronic Arts, renowned for delivering top-tier gaming experiences. We believe great games start with diverse teams that reflect the players and communities we serve.

We are seeking a passionate Quality Designer to join our Battlefield QV team supporting the Motive studio in Montreal. This role offers an opportunity to develop innovative quality practices aimed at enhancing the Battlefield gaming experience.

Role Overview

Senior Quality Analysts, or Quality Designers, are senior analysts equivalent to Project Leads. They focus on owning significant game features or systems rather than leading people. They champion best practices, drive testing innovation, define and evolve testing procedures, and ensure accurate execution and reporting by the QA team. You will report to the Local QV Development Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own QA for key gameplay features and systems.
  • Define and maintain test strategies, ensuring accurate status and risk reporting.
  • Represent QA within the development team; be visible, vocal, and integrated.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and share updates with the QA team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of gameplay systems and requirements; share updates with the QA team.
  • Perform design testing reviews to identify bugs and concerns early.
  • Coordinate with the wider Battlefield QV Team across multiple studios and timezones to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Providing actionable feedback from both a test and player perspective for your areas of ownership.
  • Utilize telemetry to quantify user behavior against design intentions.
  • Use development tools to guide issue identification and promote defect prevention.
  • Engage Quality Engineering to identify, implement, and refine high-value QV-created tools.
  • Identify high-value automation and telemetry requirements.
  • Interpret data to inform decisions on product quality and QA service delivery.
  • Work with partners across the business to ensure alignment.
  • Champion opportunities to improve and enhance processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Passion for quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in game or software development QA experience across multiple titles.
  • Knowledge of gaming consoles and systems.
  • Experience with white-box/grey-box testing techniques.
  • Experience in peer coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to provide detailed qualitative feedback.
  • Experience in performing design testing reviews.

Desirable:

  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, DevTest, TestRail, Perforce, or Git.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools like Power Bi or Tableau.
  • Experience with game engine editors like Frostbite, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Programming, scripting, or database experience (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript, T-SQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with test automation and telemetry systems.
