Job Summary

The Control and Automation Engineer will develop, implement, maintain, and optimize PLC programs to ensure operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with safety and industry standards. This role involves providing technical support and training to local personnel, collaborating with multifunctional teams, and documenting program changes for traceability. The engineer will focus on diagnosing and resolving control issues to enhance system performance.

Must Have

  • Develop and implement PLC programs in alignment with the central @SgmP department
  • Detect, diagnose, and optimize existing PLC programs to improve operational efficiency and system reliability
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams (engineering, operations, and maintenance) to understand automation requirements and develop effective solutions
  • Maintain and update PLC software, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations
  • Provide technical support and training to local personnel in PLC operation and maintenance
  • Document PLC programs, configurations, and changes for future reference and traceability
  • University degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in PLC programming and implementation, preferably Siemens S7
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram)
  • Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and industrial automation systems
  • Intermediate-advanced technical English

Job Description

The person in this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing PLC programs, ensuring operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with safety and industry standards. Likewise, they will provide technical support and training to local personnel, working collaboratively with multifunctional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement PLC programs in alignment with the central @SgmP department.
  • Detect, diagnose, and optimize existing PLC programs to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams (engineering, operations, and maintenance) to understand automation requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain and update PLC software, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to local personnel in operation and maintenance of PLC.
  • Document PLC programs, configurations, and changes for future references and traceability.

Skills and Qualifications

Technical

  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages, including Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
  • Practical experience with Siemens S7 platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to diagnose control problems and propose quick and effective solutions.

Professional

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in in-person and virtual environments.
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or related area (desirable).
  • Certifications in PLC programming and industrial automation (advantage).

Requirements

  • University degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in PLC programming and implementation, preferably Siemens S7.
