Job Summary

Playnetic is seeking a Financial Controller to establish and enhance financial frameworks for their fast-growing gaming studio. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial operations, strengthening internal controls, and providing insights for scalable growth. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and operational governance, ensuring the business remains financially sound in a fast-paced, regulated industry. The Financial Controller will collaborate with various teams and report to the CFO, contributing to strategic decisions and process improvements.

Must Have

  • Establish and enhance financial frameworks and governance
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
  • Lead preparation of management accounts, dashboards, and board reporting
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, revenue recognition
  • Oversee VAT and tax submissions
  • Manage external audits and compliance
  • Supervise payroll execution and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor payment cycles, banking activities, and cash management
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Operations, and department leads
  • 7+ years in finance/accounting roles, including leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in accounting processes, financial reporting, and governance
  • Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
  • Experience in compliance, audit management, and global operations
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills

Financial Controller

Established in 2023, Playnetic is a fresh force in gaming entertainment. We design and build slot games entirely in-house—sparking ideas, shaping concepts, and crafting polished releases enjoyed in regulated markets across the globe through industry-leading operators.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Financial Controller to shape the financial backbone of Playnetic—a fast-growing gaming studio delivering high-quality slot games to regulated markets worldwide.

In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee our financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and provide the insights that keep the business financially sound while supporting scalable growth. From budgeting and forecasting to reporting, compliance, and operational governance, your work will ensure Playnetic can move quickly and confidently in a fast-paced, regulated industry.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams across multiple locations and report to our CFO, who leads with autonomy, trust, and clarity—no micromanagement, just support and collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Controls & Governance

  • Establish, maintain, and continuously enhance financial frameworks, ensuring strong governance across accounting, payments, reporting, and compliance.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead the preparation and review of management accounts, financial dashboards, and board reporting.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making.

Accounting Oversight & Process Leadership

  • Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, and cost controls.
  • Ensure consistent, scalable accounting processes across regions.

Tax, Audit & Compliance

  • Oversee VAT and tax submissions in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Manage external audits and maintain compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.

Payroll, Payments & Banking

  • Supervise payroll execution and ensure proper governance, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor payment cycles, banking activities, and cash management to safeguard liquidity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, HR, Operations, and department leads to guide financial decisions and enforce discipline.
  • Support strategic initiatives and board-level insights alongside the CFO.

Continuous Improvement & Scalability

  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.
  • Drive automation and workflow optimization to support growth and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

✅ 7+ years in finance/accounting roles, including leadership experience

✅ Strong expertise in accounting processes, financial reporting, and governance

✅ Proven ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning

✅ Experience in compliance, audit management, and global operations

✅ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and adaptability skills

Preferred Qualifications
