Apple’s Workplace Design Team is looking for passionate and driven Industrial Design student to partner with a diverse team of architects, designers, and engineers and develop innovative architectural materials, systems, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), and spatial solutions. Gain hands-on experience in the design and validation process, from concept to implementation, impacting the daily lives of Apple employees worldwide. As a Workplace Design Innovation Team intern, you will support local and global programs and initiatives while reporting to the Innovation team lead, who will mentor you and help facilitate your success. During the summer, you could: Research and analyze emerging trends in materials for workplace interiors, presenting findings and recommendations to the design team. Assist in the development of 3D models and visualizations for proposed initiatives, incorporating cross-functional partner and user feedback. Collaborate with senior designers to create detailed specifications for furniture and fixtures, ensuring adherence to Apple's design standards and goals. Contribute to the design and prototyping of furniture and fixtures, focusing on user comfort and adaptability. Conduct user research and observational studies to identify unmet needs and opportunities for innovation in existing workspace environments. Assist in the creation of presentations and reports to communicate design concepts and project progress to stakeholders.
