Job Summary
The Systems Software Engineering team ensures that the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts permeate and create happiness within Modeling, Simulation & Training. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area, from January 2026 to June 2026. Interns must be fully available for the duration. As a Systems Software Engineering intern, you will assist with various projects, contributing to the development of guest throughput attraction models, helping build Hardware-In-The-Loop test beds for attractions, and developing in-house tools built off the C++ and C# framework.
Must Have
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming (preferably C++ or C#)
- Ability to troubleshoot and assess software errors and implement solutions
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Gitlab
- Experience with controls hardware
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related major
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Unrestricted work authorization
- Full availability for the six-month internship (January 2026 – June 2026), 40 hours each week, Monday through Friday, PST
- Ability to provide own housing and reliable transportation in the Glendale, CA area

What You Will Do:
As a Systems Software Engineering intern, you will have the unique opportunity to assist with a variety of projects within our software engineering department.
On any given day you might:
- Contribute to the development of guest throughput attraction models
- Help build Hardware-In-The-Loop test beds for attractions
- Develop our in-house tools built off the C++ and C# framework
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming, preferably C++ or C#
- Ability to troubleshoot and assess software errors and implement solutions

Education:
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college/university, earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related major.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding)
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information:
- Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines (for DX)
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available Monday thru Friday, PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Pay Transparency:
The pay rate for this role as an undergraduate in CA is $31.00 /hr. The pay rate for this role as a graduate student in CA is $36.00/hr.
