Job Description

This Manager, Accounting role at PayPal drives corporate accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls. The position involves leading process workstreams, identifying finance-related risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product implementation and financial excellence. It requires strong understanding of accounting operations, external and management reporting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proactively engage, evaluate, and drive resolution of potential conflicts between various Finance and non-Finance functions.

  • Work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps.
  • Comfort with problem solving and creative solutioning.
  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and PayPal's accounting policies.
  • Review and reconcile accounts, and partner with FP&A and data teams to analyze trends and variances.
  • Review contracts and collaborate with Accounting Policy Group to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of contractual arrangements.
  • Prepare and present reporting packages and/or presentation to members of senior management.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive documentation, including accounting policies, processes and procedures.
  • Partner with Internal Controls team to continuously assess and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist in special projects.

This role requires an understanding of US GAAP, accounting operations, external and management reporting, and internal controls. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams including sales, product and finance analytics to drive product implementation and projects, establish processes and drive financial excellence.
