Job Description

Stord is seeking a detail-oriented Mystery Shopping Associate to build and execute its Mystery Shopping program. This role involves uncovering, documenting, and storytelling the e-commerce fulfillment experiences of top brands. The associate will manage the full lifecycle of mystery shopping operations, from planning and executing orders to unboxing, filming, analyzing, and packaging findings into reports. They will partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to create data-backed 'Consumer Experience Reports' that drive pipeline and customer engagement.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Canva, Figma, or Adobe tools for simple layouts.
  • Experience with HubSpot or Salesforce for tracking.
Must Have:
  • Identify and source target brands for mystery shopping based on sales priorities, target accounts, and market trends.
  • Place and track e-commerce orders from Tier 1 and mid-market brands across DTC and marketplace channels.
  • Record all stages of the customer journey: order confirmation, shipping notifications, packaging, delivery time, and unboxing experience.
  • Film ATL-based unboxings and warehouse overviews in a high-quality, repeatable format.
  • Maintain organized records of timing, shipping methods, carriers, packaging, and branding elements for each order.
  • Analyze the end-to-end consumer experience for each mystery shop.
  • Draft compelling, visually engaging Mystery Shopping reports for use by Sales, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
  • Create shareable landing pages, PDFs, and summaries showcasing findings and takeaways.
  • Collaborate with Design and Content Marketing to ensure all deliverables are on-brand and compelling for outbound use.
  • Manage and coordinate broader team-sourced mystery shops, assigning, tracking, and standardizing submissions.
  • Manage outbound distribution of completed reports and assets to SDRs, AEs, and Customer Success Managers.
  • Maintain the mystery shopping library and performance dashboard tracking impact on pipeline and account engagement.

Role Summary:

Stord is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Mystery Shopping Associate to help build and execute our Mystery Shopping program — one of the most visible and creative initiatives in Stord’s marketing and sales enablement engine.

This individual will play a key role in uncovering, documenting, and storytelling the ecommerce fulfillment experiences of top brands across the industry. You’ll manage the full lifecycle of mystery shopping operations — from planning and executing orders, to unboxing, filming, analyzing, and packaging findings into reports that drive pipeline and customer engagement.

You will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to create compelling, data-backed “Consumer Experience Reports” that fuel Stord’s go-to-market motion, differentiate our brand, and help prospects and customers see what’s possible with Stord’s solutions.

This is an entry-level, hands-on role perfect for a creative, organized self-starter eager to learn the ins and outs of ecommerce operations, marketing storytelling, and sales enablement within one of the fastest-growing commerce technology companies.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

Mystery Shopping Execution

  • Identify and source target brands for mystery shopping based on sales priorities, target accounts, and market trends.
  • Place and track ecommerce orders from Tier 1 and mid-market brands across DTC and marketplace channels.
  • Record all stages of the customer journey — order confirmation, shipping notifications, packaging, delivery time, and unboxing experience.
  • Film ATL-based unboxings and warehouse overviews in a high-quality, repeatable format (with support from video/creative team).
  • Maintain organized records of timing, shipping methods, carriers, packaging, and branding elements for each order.

Data and Report Development

  • Analyze the end-to-end consumer experience for each mystery shop — delivery speed, packaging quality, sustainability indicators, unboxing experience, return flows, etc.
  • Draft compelling, visually engaging Mystery Shopping reports for use by Sales, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
  • Create shareable landing pages, PDFs, and summaries showcasing findings and takeaways.
  • Collaborate with Design and Content Marketing to ensure all deliverables are on-brand and compelling for outbound use.

Program Management and Collaboration

  • Manage and coordinate broader team-sourced mystery shops — assigning, tracking, and standardizing submissions for consistency + manage rewards system for participants.
  • Manage outbound distribution of completed reports and assets to SDRs, AEs, and Customer Success Managers.
  • Maintain the mystery shopping library and performance dashboard tracking impact on pipeline and account engagement.

Creative and Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Support development of video or social content highlighting the most interesting findings and comparisons.
  • Provide insights for thought leadership, blogs, and case studies stemming from mystery shopping data.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions on new themes, verticals, and campaign tie-ins for the Mystery Shopping program.

Experience and Competencies

  • 1–3+ years of experience in marketing operations, ecommerce, or related analytical or creative roles (internship or entry-level accepted).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a strong sense for branding, consumer experience, and storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to synthesize findings into clear, concise, and visual narratives.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Airtable).
  • Nice to have: experience with Canva, Figma, or Adobe tools for simple layouts; experience with HubSpot or Salesforce for tracking.

Logistics

  • Must be based in Atlanta and able to perform on-site unboxings, filming, and product evaluations.
  • Comfortable lifting/handling consumer packages and filming equipment (lightweight).
  • Must maintain discretion and professionalism when evaluating brands.

What Success Looks Like in ~12 Months

  • 960+ mystery shops completed and analyzed, representing a broad cross-section of target Tier 1 and Tier 2 brands.
  • Consistent cadence of high-quality Mystery Shopping Reports and aggregated “Consumer Experience Reports” fueling outbound sales engagement, PR, and organic content.
  • Measurable impact on pipeline generation, deal acceleration, and customer expansion (cross-sell of products) through insights produced.
  • Clear, repeatable operational process established for mystery shopping across the marketing team.
  • Mystery Shopping reports regularly referenced by sales, marketing, and executive leadership as a core enablement asset.
  • Strong partnership with Sales and Customer Success to identify and engage high-priority accounts.
  • Stord recognized by prospects and customers alike for its unique, data-backed insights into ecommerce fulfillment excellence.
