Job Description

As the People and Culture Officer, you will support Managers and staff through our formal case management processes, including grievance, discipline, absence management, probation, performance management, and capability. This is a key role within the People and Culture function that supports resolution of a range of staffing situations across all areas of the business. You will also support and contribute to other HR areas such as compliance, employee engagement, and policy, whilst providing administrative support including assisting in the management of employee data. The role requires a proactive, solutions focused individual with the ability to advise, and support across a range of HR case matters.
Good To Have:
  • Experience working in the games industry within an HR capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Knowledge of Singapore Employment Law.
Must Have:
  • Support the People and Culture Manager with day-to-day employee relations case management.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and retention initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, templates and user guides.
  • Monitor, own and administrate the HR Inbox to ensure queries are responded to within agreed SLAs.
  • Work closely with the parent company HR function to ensure payroll processes and employee files are up to date.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or experience of working in HR at advisory level.
  • A sound knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, IT, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and HR databases.

Responsibilities

  • Support the People and Culture Manager with day-to-day employee relations case management including, but not limited to, absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, probation reviews and performance management, delegating cases or escalating complex issues as required.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and retention initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and stakeholders, promoting trust and mutual respect.
  • Utilise HR metrics to inform decision-making, driving strategic improvements across business areas.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, ensuring compliance with all employment laws and regulations as well as managing legacy records and systems, including spot checking of compliance with associated paperwork including Right To Work checks and staff vetting in line with employment legislation.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, templates and user guides to ensure compliance with global and local regulations.
  • Maintenance of reports to maintain up to date record keeping and reporting such as; Payroll reports, Recruitment and candidate reports, HR casework reports, Purchasing reports, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion reports, etc.
  • Ensuring the active promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and ensure it is ultimately an environment where everyone is treated with courtesy and respect.
  • Monitoring, owning and administrating the HR Inbox to ensure we are responding to queries within our agreed SLAs.
  • Working closely with the parent company HR function to ensure payroll processes and employee files are up to date and payroll changes are provided in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or experience of working in HR at advisory level, supporting formal HR casework at all stages of the process.
  • A sound knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT and administrative skills - proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and HR databases.
  • Ability to evaluate complex situations and provide clear business focused advice.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and drive forward casework through excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience of using HR systems.
  • Strong analytics skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.

Desirable

  • Experience working in the games industry within an HR capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in a startup or scale-up environment, thriving with minimal direction while delivering exceptional results preferred.
  • Knowledge of Singapore Employment Law.
