We are looking for a hands-on and dynamic People Business Partner committed to fostering a high performing culture where people thrive. As a People Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to both leaders and employees, providing practical guidance and support on all people related matters. You will execute and support people-related projects, processes, and initiatives that enhance the Lula culture and align with our business priorities.
In this role, you will support our Operational teams, namely Sales, Customer Success, Credit, Collections and Business Development.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers in your business areas, providing timely and effective people support.
- Act as a trusted advisor that builds strong relationships with leaders and their teams to provide hands-on support for achieving business goals.
- Be present and available to engage with all employees and respond to team needs in a timely manner.
- Spend time with people and develop a deep understanding of team objectives in order to create effective team structures and facilitate interventions that will improve team morale, effectiveness and performance.
- Support the design and lead the implementation of policies, programmes, frameworks (e.g., KPI setting, OKRs, Growth Plans) and other people experience projects that reinforce Lula’s culture and the overall achievement of business goals and objectives.
- Work with senior leadership to drive effective performance management, recognition, employee development, and retention strategies.
- Collaborate with management to identify and address employee training and development needs, providing coaching and guidance on career progression and development opportunities.
- Improve management’s leadership capability through continuous coaching on effective management and leadership practices.
- Manage the full lifecycle of employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, grievances, poor performance management and disciplinary processes in line with Lula policies, ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the relevant Talent Acquisition Partners on hiring strategies that will ensure that Lula attracts high performing individuals to be placed in the right positions to meet current and future business needs.
- Recruit for new vacancies within your partner areas as required.
- Analyse people related data to identify trends, develop meaningful insights, and deliver proactive solutions to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Manage HR administration for your business areas, including contract changes, promotions, and exit processes.
- Stay current on HR trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and insights with the team and business leaders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and use data to inform decision-making and recommend meaningful insights.

- Bachelor's degree in Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Honours degree in Organisational Psychology or Human Resource Management is advantageous.
- 3 - 5 years experience in an HR role, with at least 2 of those years as a People / HR Business Partner
- Solid knowledge of managing Employee Relations in alignment with the South African labour law.
- A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to develop and implement HR programs and initiatives aligned with business objectives and a strong understanding of HR metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in providing people and culture advice and coaching to people at various levels of an organisation;
- The ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
