Join Playtika, a leading interactive entertainment company, as a Regulatory Counsel. This role involves collaborating with games studios, legal, and compliance teams to develop and monitor policies aligned with new laws impacting social games companies. Responsibilities include conducting global research on emerging regulatory requirements in the gaming industry, managing external counsel, reviewing new laws related to online safety (e.g., UK, Australia, EU Digital Services Act, DMA), and supporting product legal teams in ensuring compliance. You will also draft and maintain policies for trade control and sanctions laws, and coordinate with various departments on regulatory matters, policy strategies, and investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on consumer-facing tech, digital media, online and mobile app laws, consumer protection, and e-commerce.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years Israeli qualified lawyer
  • High-tech global regulatory role experience
  • Experience advising on consumer protection laws
  • Ability to manage diverse projects
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
Good to have:
  • Gaming/mobile & digital practice experience
  • Background in consumer-facing tech/digital media
  • Experience with EU Digital Services Act/UK Online Safety Act
  • Advising on practical implementation of new laws
  • Team player with strong coordination skills
  • Experience in policy and compliance training

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work closely with the games studios, the legal& compliance team, privacy and competitive intelligence functions to develop and monitor policies and standards applicable to the business and in compliance with the new laws focusing on social games companies. The Regulatory Counsel will report to the SVP Deputy GC.

  • Conduct global research and monitoring to ensure that the business is aware of, and compliant with, emerging regulatory and legal requirements relevant for the gaming industry.
  • Work with and manage local outside counsels in different countries to seek and implement advice.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and assessing new laws and regulations relating to online safety of digital content such as content and safety in the UK, Australia and EU. Consumer protection laws globally, gaming laws and competition related measures such as the DMA. and driving the implementation of those laws and codes.
  • Supporting other in-house lawyers and our product legal team to review new products and features to comply with relevant laws.
  • Draft, review and maintain new and existing processes and policies with Playtika Compliance team to ensure compliance with new trade control and sanctions laws.
  • Closely collaborating and coordinating with regulatory and litigation lawyers, games studios and communications teams on regulatory matters, company’s policy strategies, external communication, and investigations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years Israeli qualified lawyer, in a high-tech global regulatory role from a well-regarded private practice team or established in-house department; gaming / mobile & digital practice is a significant advantage.
  • Background in consumer-facing tech and/or digital media, or a solid understanding of these industries from private practice.
  • Experience advising on laws relating to online and mobile app, consumer protection, ecommerce, user generated content, such as Digital Services Act in the EU and Online Safety Act in the UK and more.
  • Ability to manage a large number and variety of high profile and strategic projects and navigate ambiguous legal and regulatory environments.
  • Previous experience of advising on the practical implementation of new laws.
  • Ability to work as a team player who can effectively work with, manage and coordinate colleagues, internal stakeholders and the business.
  • Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in developing and delivering policy and compliance training.
