Job Summary
The SDE 2 - DevOps role at FanCode, a Dream Sports company, focuses on maintaining a stable and secure cloud environment on GCP. Responsibilities include designing and deploying resilient cloud architecture using Infrastructure as Code, implementing services for scaling a microservices architecture, building self-serve infrastructure automation, and developing tools for infrastructure while evangelizing best practices in continuous delivery, containerization, automation, networking, security, and observability.
Must Have
- 4+ years of experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer
- Experience with GCP Cloud Infrastructure
- Experience with Infrastructure Automation Tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience with Linux & Networking in Production Clusters
- Experience with Docker & Container Orchestration (e.g., GKE, Helm, ArgoCD)
- Experience with SDLC, SCM, CI/CD Pipelines, Build and Release (e.g., GitHub Actions, MVN, NPM)
- Experience with Observability Platforms (e.g. New Relic)
Good to Have
- Good Understanding of Microservice Design patterns and Distributed Architecture
- Experience with Database Administration (e.g., MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka)
- Experience with CDN and Caching Technologies (e.g GCP MediaCDN, Redis)
- Experience with coding in at least one higher-level language (e.g., Python or GoLang)
- Experience working on Multi Cloud Setup (AWS/Azure)
- Experience on designing and operating AI Platforms
- Industry Leading Certifications such as CKA, GCP Cloud Architecture, CKAD, etc.
- Good understanding of Data Engineering Technologies
- Good understanding of Cloud Security Best Practices
- Good understanding on FinOps, AIOps, MLOps

Role Overview:

The mission is to create a platform for all sports fans, covering Sports Live Video Streaming, Live Scores & Commentary, Video On Demand, Player Analytics, Fantasy Research, News.
Our tech stack is hosted on GCP and is built on GKE, GCS, Cloud Run, MediaCDN utilizing a microservices-based architecture with Java, Node.js, Python, Redis, MySQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. They are a data-driven team that also uses Python and big data technologies like Kafka, Spark, and Redshift for Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. As a data-driven team, we also use Python and other big data technologies for Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. Besides these, we heavily use Kafka, Spark, Redshift and other cutting edge tech to keep improving FanCode's performance.
You will be joining the Core Infra Engineering Team, responsible for maintaining a fresh, stable, and secure environment. The team builds a great foundation, spreads infrastructure knowledge across other teams, and evangelizes best practices in:
- Continuous Delivery
- Containerisation & Orchestration
- Automation
- Networking
- Security
- Observability
What you’ll do:
- Design and deploy a resilient Cloud Architecture by using Infrastructure as Code automation tools.
- Design and implement services and tools to manage and scale a service-oriented architecture (e.g., service discovery, config managers, container orchestration, and more).
- Build self-serve infrastructure automation and optimize deployment workflow at scale.
- Build and maintain a Containers Orchestration Platform on GCP Cloud Infrastructure.
- Develop and support tools for infrastructure, and evangelize best practices to be used by other engineers.
- Write Code to implement networking and security at scale.
- Mentoring/supporting engineers regarding development, concepts, and best practices.
