Job Summary
The Senior Business Affairs Manager at Razorfish is a remote role responsible for overseeing business affairs, talent, and compliance/substantiation for projects, particularly for a large energy client. This role involves close collaboration with Content Producers, Account/Project Management, Legal, and Finance to ensure all content productions adhere to client substantiation guidelines and company policies. Key duties include reviewing creative for legal issues, managing SAG/AFTRA talent, handling contracts, and ensuring timely processing of payments and documentation for US-based productions.
Must Have
- Work closely with Producers, Creative, Account/PM Management, Legal, Substantiation team and Finance on all production jobs.
- Review creative for potential legal issues, including clearances and licensing of third-party materials.
- Review creative and prepare substantiation/compliance workbooks for all planned creative.
- Identify claims in marketing content, conduct research to develop detailed substantiation materials.
- Translate legal feedback into clear, actionable revisions.
- Manage SAG/AFTRA Talent reuse for Client at talent payroll company.
- Manage and maintain Client’s Rights Managed Asset Tracker.
- Estimate SAG Talent/Non-Union sessions and use fees for productions.
- Prepare SAG/Non-Union talent contracts for Producers and process contracts.
- Review final cuts/materials to ensure all licenses, contracts, releases are in place.
- Prepare and file SAG/Non-union final cast/completion reports.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract.
- Work closely with Vendor Operations Team on on-boarding new vendors.
- Create/prepare all vendor purchase orders and review/approve invoices.
- Work closely with Producers on preparing/reviewing all vendor contracts.
- Assist Producers in reviewing vendor bids/routing through APR.
- Work with Producers on preparing client facing estimates.
- Prepare and declare all Production insurance as needed for shoots.
- Work closely with Creative Operation team on all job closeouts.
- Maintain project folders for all jobs worked on in BOX.
- Generate Ad-Id Codes as needed.
- 5-8 Years Business Affairs Experience at an advertising agency.
- Knowledge of the 2025 SAG/AFTRA MOA.
- Experience producing both Union and Non-Union shoots in the US and abroad.
- Experience in processing both Union and Non-Union Talent.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to self-direct.
- Experience in identifying claims, sourcing substantiation, and preparing legal documentation.
- Flexible and willing to learn client substantiation/compliance workbooks.

Overview
The Senior Business Affairs Manager is a hybrid position with responsibilities for managing the business affairs, talent and compliance/substantiation aspects for various projects for a large energy company and Razorfish productions. In this would you would work closely with Content Producers, Account/Project Management, Legal and Finance to ensure all content productions are completed and delivered following all client substantiation guidelines and company policies.
This is remote position available to US-based candidates.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Producers, Creative, Account/PM Management, Legal, Substantiation team and Finance on all production jobs, (across Razorfish) from creative approval to final billing.
- Review creative for potential legal issues, including clearances and licensing of third-party materials. Liaise with Legal as needed.
- Review creative and prepare substantiation/compliance workbooks for all planned creative for our Client. Serve as the key compliance liaison between Client’s legal department, cross-functional teams and Razorfish.
- Identify claims in marketing content, conduct research to develop detailed substantiation materials within the compliance workbooks, and maintain up-to-date documentation in the centralized substantiation hub.
- Translate legal feedback into clear, actionable revisions while facilitating open dialogue between legal and creative teams to resolve concerns in a collaborative, risk-conscious way.
- Manage SAG/AFTRA Talent reuse for Client at talent payroll company; ensure all talent residuals and holding fees are processed timely.
- Manage and maintain Client’s Rights Managed Asset Tracker including handling negotiations for renewals of Talent and Music as needed.
- Estimate SAG Talent/Non-Union sessions and use fees for productions and prepare client facing talent estimates for approval if needed.
- Prepare SAG/Non-Union talent contracts for Producers and process contracts after shoot on talent paymaster platform.
- Review final cuts/materials to ensure all licenses, contracts, releases are in place prior to delivery of spots/materials.
- Prepare and file SAG/Non-union final cast/completion reports in BOX and on talent payroll platform as needed. Process all talent use payments with paymaster and with Finance.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract to Production, Creative and Account/PM Management teams.
- Work closely with Vendor Operations Team on on-boarding new vendors into finance system
- Create/prepare all vendor purchase orders in finance system/ review and approve invoices in system
- Work closely with Producers on preparing/reviewing all vendor contracts for content production

- Prepare and declare all Production insurance as needed for shoots.
- Work closely with Creative Operation team on all job closeouts.
- Maintain project folders for all jobs worked on in BOX.
- Generate Ad-Id Codes as needed.
Qualifications
- 5-8 Years Business Affairs Experience at an advertising agency.
- Knowledge of the 2025 SAG/AFTRA MOA including newly publicized rules regarding the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience producing both Union and Non-Union shoots in the US and abroad.
- Experience in processing both Union and Non-Union Talent (Contracts and Payments).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to self-direct and work under own initiative.
- Experience in identifying claims, sourcing substantiation, and preparing legal documentation for high-volume creative communications.
- Able to be flexible and willing to learn all things required for client substantiation/compliance workbooks.

Compensation Range: $88,000 - $101,000/yr. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
