Senior DevOps Engineer

Motorola Solutions is a global community dedicated to public safety through critical communications, video security, and command center technologies. The Rave organization, a part of Motorola Solutions, develops SaaS products for safety, utilizing advanced technologies like geospatial visualization, AI, and high-throughput communications. We are seeking a highly skilled AWS DevOps Full-Stack Engineer with expertise in IaC (Terraform), Helm, MySQL, Kubernetes, and CI/CD Pipelines to build, maintain, secure, and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure and systems.

Must Have

• Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure
• Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on CI/CD pipelines
• Build and manage containerized applications
• Provision and support relational databases (MySQL)
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance
• Contribute to disaster recovery and backup strategies
• Manage developer tooling
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks
• Experience with containers and orchestration tooling (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker)
• Experience designing and deploying solutions to AWS cloud environments
• Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform)
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub, BitBucket, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with DVCS tooling (Git)
• Experience with RDBMS systems (MySQL)
• Experience with Linux including scripting (Bash)
• 10+ years of software engineering/development experience
• 5+ years of cloud infrastructure experience
• 2+ years of Kubernetes and Docker experience
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance

• Experience with AI/machine learning technologies
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting tools
• Awareness of compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CCCS)
• Experience with SIP/RTP

The Rave organization within Motorola Solutions is responsible for SaaS products supporting the safety mission of public and private entities. We help our customers engage with responders, households, schools, businesses, employees, students and other stakeholders to deliver critical communications, coordinate response, and exchange life-saving information.

Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled AWS DevOps Full-Stack Engineer with expertise in IaC (Terraform), Helm, MySQL, Kubernetes, and CI/CD Pipelines. You will play a key role in building, maintaining, securing and deploying scalable cloud infrastructure and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure
• Automate deployment, scaling and monitoring of systems on that infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement CI/CD pipelines
• Build and manage containerized applications
• Provision and support configuration of relational databases with an emphasis on high availability, security and reliability
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance and reliability
• Contribute to the creation and operation of robust disaster recovery and backup strategies
• Manage developer tooling
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, compliance and security frameworks
• (Optionally) develop and support full stack Java-based applications

Required Skills:

• Experience with containers and container orchestration tooling (Kubernetes / Helm / Docker)
• Experience designing and deploying solutions to cloud environments (AWS)
• Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub, BitBucket, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with DVCS tooling (Git, GitHub, BitBucket, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with RDBMS systems including managing schema evolution, migration, replication and disaster recovery (MySQL or similar)
• Experience with Linux including scripting (Bash)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AI/machine learning technologies is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting tools (WireShark, TCPDump, SNGrep, nslookup)
• Awareness of compliance frameworks (e.g. FedRAMP, CCCS)
• Experience with SIP/RTP
• Experience with developer tooling (Artifactory, Sonar, Gradle)
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK Stack or similar)
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, security frameworks, and tooling (e.g., OWASP, NIST, CIS, Prisma Cloud/Twistlock, Mend/WhiteSource)

Target Base Salary Range: $140,000 USD - $160,000 USD
