Senior Hard Surface Modeling Artist - Characters (R27077)

Epic Games is looking for a Senior Hard Surface Modeling Artist with strong experience in character and organic form modeling to join the team. You will collaborate with art, design, animation, technical animation, and production teams to support a constant flow of character, organic, and mechanical content for Fortnite. You will create stylized works and contribute to raising the visual quality of organic and Hard Surface modeling, while being an excellent communicator and a committed team player.

Must Have

• Create high-quality 3D characters and organic elements from concepts under art director supervision
• Model high and low-resolution elements and create textures for characters, creatures, weapons, pickaxes, gliders, vehicles, and gadgets
• Design mechanical models with a high degree of articulation and animation
• Collaborate with gameplay, animation, technical animation, visual effects, and technical art teams
• Create high-quality stylized models and textures consistent with the game's artistic vision
• Produce models that faithfully translate the intent and feel of the original 2D concept
• World-class modeling skills and mastery of 3D software (e.g., ZBrush, 3ds Max)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Strong texturing skills and experience with PBR materials
• Ability to transform 2D concepts into finished 3D models
• Ability to create functional and articulated mechanical models

What you will be responsible for

• Create high-quality 3D characters and organic elements from concepts and under the supervision of the art director
• Model high and low-resolution elements and create their textures, including characters, creatures, weapons, pickaxes, gliders, vehicles, and gadgets
• Design mechanical models with a high degree of articulation and animation
• Collaborate with various teams, including gameplay, animation, technical animation, visual effects, and technical art
• Create high-quality stylized models and textures consistent with the game's artistic vision
• Produce models that faithfully translate the intent and feel of the original 2D concept

What we are looking for

• World-class modeling skills and mastery of 3D software — for example ZBrush for organic forms and, preferably, 3ds Max for Hard Surface models
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across different disciplines
• Strong texturing skills and experience with PBR materials
• Ability to transform a 2D concept into a finished 3D model
