Job Description

In the Group Legal Team of the parent company Axel Springer SE, we support the strategic goals of the company with legal excellence – interdisciplinary, solution-oriented, and close to the business. We are looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel Antitrust to strengthen our team, who will accompany our growth with profound expertise in antitrust law and enthusiasm for digital markets. This role involves advising on antitrust and regulatory issues, supporting M&A transactions, assisting in proceedings before authorities, and evaluating contracts.
Must have:
  • Advise on national and international antitrust and regulatory issues, especially concerning digital business models, platform regulation (Digital Markets Act), and strategic media cooperations.
  • Support M&A transactions regarding merger control law, media and investment control law, and other antitrust risks.
  • Assist in proceedings before the EU Commission, national competition authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct antitrust evaluation of contracts, particularly in marketing, technology, and content.
  • Support antitrust damages proceedings.
  • Monitor and support legislative developments at the intersection of AI and competition law.
  • Fully qualified lawyer with at least two years of relevant professional experience in antitrust law in an international law firm or company.
  • Sound knowledge of German and European antitrust law.
  • Analytical thinking, high sense of responsibility, and a strong understanding of economic contexts.
  • Very good German and business-fluent English skills.
  • Team spirit, pragmatism, and enthusiasm for digital markets.

What you will move with us:
